The restaurant is always packed not just weekends but weekdays because this eatery is located near to pasir gudang industrial zone hence lots of working people patronizes during their work lunch hours. The queue however wont take long because their efficiency is commendable. After you had ordered what you want at the food station and proceed to the table. Food and drinks have been served on table even before you come back from washing your hands at nearest sink. If you get a table seat next to the sea view, that will be a breathtaking eating experience. The signature dish, siakap goreng, i.e. deep fried seabass with skin scales preserved is a must order. It will be odd to go there and order other dishes but not the fish. So, it’s a die-die must order dish. The fish is served hot, one can see the smoke flares when you peel off the skin to reach the meat. Crispy on the outside skin and tender juicy chunky meat inside. Together with the special soya sauce dipping (lime, onion slices and light soy sauce) the taste combination is simply awesome. Even with plain white rice, the feasting is so fulfilling! Other laudable dishes such as the sambal prawn is fresh, generously big in size and not very spicy. The beef rendang where the meat is so soft tender and the thick gravy is so appetizing mixing with white rice. My personal sidekick dish will be the sambal kacang. It makes the whole meal more tantalizing. It’s like a preggy craving for small bites. The tempeh also quite nice because crispy and...
Read moreDining at this restaurant felt like a warm embrace from grandma’s kitchen. The dishes were bursting with authentic Malay flavors that truly reminded me of home.
We started with a beautifully prepared whole fish, perfectly cooked and served with tangy sauces that elevated every bite. The butter chili cream fish dish was another standout, rich and flavorful, making it a comforting favorite.
The spicy prawns were a delightful treat, coated in a robust sauce that left us craving more. Paired with a refreshing “asamboi” drink, every dish complemented each other perfectly.
The pickled vegetables and savory fried egg added a nice balance to the meal, while the “sambal kacang” and “bilis” were a great way to keep our spirits high.
The atmosphere was cozy, and we enjoyed our meal with a stunning view. If you're looking for a place that serves food reminiscent of home-cooked meals, this is it! Highly recommend for anyone seeking authentic, heartwarming cuisine.
I suggest to call ahead to make reservations. So there is not a long wait. Right from the moment we walked in it...
Read moreThe good - serving is fast, they kinda have system attending people to the table even on a busy day so you don't stuck in a line for long. The atmosphere too, in my opinion is quite unique. Having you meal on a platform stilts give a feeling like you floating on a raft. Overlooking the waters and boats passing by. Fresh siakap.
The bad - lauk (condiments) served cold. If not all but majority of them are readily cooked. I was there around 3 pm, my guess those lauk e.g. stir fried long beans, fried spicy tempeh, spicy sambal peanuts were cooked earlier and got cold right after lunch hour. I think those butter prawn also serve cold and it looked like masak lemak to me. Butter prawns in my opinion usually have thick gravy and very strong butter taste, which that's not the case. The only made to order item served hot was siakap goreng. Just plain siakap goreng. Since all ready made lauk that's how they can have very quick and swift operation to keep customer moving. All...
