Called for booking but not allowed only walk in. It was a long weekend and crowded. Understandable expected to have long wait. Have 5 elderly folks and they served us 1 vege dish, rice and tea and paused 45mins.

Our next table came not even being served drinks yet, got their dishes in 15mins! (Note the weather was humid and this restaurant does not have Aircond). What a joke while we have to keep waiting despite it was obviously a mistakes done, even acknowledged by the next table customer feeling strange and suggesting to pass over to our table since same dishes! The lady just ignored.

4x reminder to kitchen they just couldn’t bothered! Elderly got irritated, gastric for solid 1hr waiting time! We travel all the way from outstation would have just walk out but old folks can’t walk much so we continue waiting patiently and eating white rice!

If you can’t do that many, don’t accept so many customers and please do time stamp in each table so fair to all for waiting time! Best no courtesy to even APOLOGISE!

Food obviously doesn’t tastes great at ALL after the whole disappointment. Dont waste time travel all the way for it. Many good food around with better environment...

Was recommended this place when visiting Muar and tried their asam stingray, fried slipper fish, deep fried sotong and stir fried potato leaves.

The asam stingray was good, more on the sour and sweet side, not the strong spicy or salty kind like some in Melaka. The flavour is at a comforting level and it did not leave us feeling thirsty or trigger any acid reflux. Portion was generous and definitely worth the value.

The fried slipper fish was a highlight. Fresh, flavourful and well cooked. The meat was soft and even the tiny bones were fried till crispy and edible. Slightly on the pricier side — we got four pieces, which looked like two whole fish sliced into halves.

Sotong and potato leaves were standard dishes, both prepared well.

Service was great. A young man served us, understood our situation and helped suggest the right combination and portion. Really appreciated the attentiveness.

We also brought our quiet poodle along. I would not say it is officially pet friendly but thank you for accommodating us. We sat at the outermost table. It was a sunny afternoon but surprisingly breezy and cooling.

I recently savored the Asam Fish at this restaurant, and it was a delightful culinary journey that left a lasting impression.

The Asam Fish dish was a burst of flavors. The tangy and slightly spicy tamarind sauce perfectly complemented the tender and flaky fish. The addition of fresh herbs and vegetables added a refreshing balance to the dish. It was a memorable taste experience that I won't soon forget.

The restaurant's ambiance was pleasant, with a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. It's a great place for a casual dinner with friends or family. The subdued lighting and comfortable seating contributed to a enjoyable dining experience.

Service was attentive, with the staff making sure our needs were met throughout the meal. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations.

In summary, if you're a fan of Asam Fish or looking to try it for the first time, this restaurant is a solid choice. The dish was delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was on point. While it didn't quite reach the level of perfection, it's definitely a restaurant worth visiting for a flavorful Asam...

The restaurant is about 15km away from the Muar town center mostly patronise by the local. The menu is very straightforward as shown in the attached photo. We had red snapper fillet for Assam fish and also ordered our all time favourite fried tongue fish since it is available here. Both were delicious. The Assam fish is the very sourish type yet not over powering or too spicy. Really addicting. As for the fried tongue fish, one of the best we ever had. It was fried nicely and the fish itself is really fresh. The sayur manis was very enjoyable. Otak-otak not as good as expected. But is okey to try. Overall we spent RM101 for 2 pax with 2 pineapples can drinks and 2 white rice.
