Open very early 5am for golfers from Singapore and local heading to Singapore. To start the morning with a bowl of hot pork noodles is priceless. Noodle soup is not salty to taste good. So it may not entirely suit Singaporeans’ taste. The service is good and prompt. After the Covid period the lady boss still can remember my choice of order. Not easy to spot if it’s your first time as it’s located along a row of shops that is elevated from the road. Plenty of local regulars on a weekday morning but service was quick and friendly. Portions were ridiculously generous for the price (by SG standards). I had the laksa with 老鼠粉 as I wanted something spicy on a cold rainy morning but with minimal splatter since I was wearing a light colored top. Gravy could have been thicker and more lemak but not a major issue. They threw in fishcake, fish ball, 叉烧 and a meat ball but the latter tasted powdery. No egg nor see hum though. Pork Mee Pok gan lao and kopi were pretty solid.

Don't quite understand why the Laksa is so raved about.... This is more like curry + noodles... No dried shrimp no cockles no laksa leaf...😅 I much prefer Janggut Laksa at Queensway Shopping Center Singapore...that's the GOLD STANDARD

Anyway... Exceptionally friendly and amicable lady boss.

Come here you if you enjoy rustic kampong vibes that you can no longer find in Singapore.
