Our visit to Super Lobster Seafood Restaurant was nothing short of a disaster. We were greeted by the head waitress, who decided to sit at our table to take our order. While she was friendly, her overly familiar approach was uncomfortable.
The food arrived quickly, but it was clear that the prawns were frozen. The worst part, however, was the swarm of flies that attacked our food. Other tables were experiencing the same issue, and the staff initially provided only one fly swatter. Despite asking for more, the flies kept coming. We ended up with two fans blowing at our table and multiple candles lit, but nothing deterred the flies.
We had to constantly swat at the flies with our hands and fly swatters, as these large, fat insects attacked us from all angles. It was impossible to enjoy our meal, and we were forced to finish quickly and leave. One of the staff members attempted to help by swatting at the flies, but it was useless.
The food was mediocre at best, and the fly infestation made the experience unbearable. Despite an apology from the waitress, the head of the wait staff, who had taken our order while sitting at our table, did not address the issue at all.
Overall, this was a terrible dining experience. I would strongly advise others to avoid this restaurant until they can address their fly problem. We couldn't eat a mouthful without having to swat at flies....

This second outlet from the old seaside establishment does not dissappoint despite being away from the sea. Pun intended.
Chang jiejie, who took our order, is a pleasant and chatty lady bringing out the old friend vibe. Dishes recommended are on the ball and is nothing short of tasty.
The lobster, true to its recommended size, is just nice for us, the buttery eggy flavour had me licking its shell when nibbling on the meat therein.
The sweet and sour chicken is freaking flavourful and goes too well with the white rice, not too doughy, no skin, not fatty, and the meat is not too dry either! Just a good combi
The signature tofu is just right, textured on the outside, soft on the inside and too salty to taste. We scrapped the plate off its condiments just because nothing good should go to waste!
The crab meat soup is awesome! Thick with meat and prepared just nice for the platter. It offers a good start and end to out dinner.
Another compliment is that we don't feel thirsty after the meal, MSG at its minimum, yet able to deliver flavourful dishes, kudos!
Definitely calls for a...
ย ย ย Read moreIt was our first visit so we had slight trouble locating the place. If you are driving to Super Lobster Village, please remember to use Waze to navigate your way there (when in Malaysia, it is safest to use Waze. Never, ever, ever use Google Maps.). Our Grab driver used Google Maps and we ended up in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately, he managed to figure things out.
By the time we arrived at the restaurant, it was near their last-order timing. To our surprise, we were greeted by warm and friendly service staff. We decided to have our order to go so we wouldn't hold the staff back. While waiting for our order, we were served some warm water and a bowl of canned longan dessert. I mean, what more can I say about their service? The service staff were nothing but courteous and friendly.
We had ordered their Salted Egg Crabs, Australian Butter Lobster, broccoli stir-fried in garlic, salted egg squid, and kam heong clams. The crab and lobster were succulent. The broccoli didn't have a tinge of raw taste. The clams and squid were simply flavourful.
If you are in search of fresh live seafood at Bandar Penawar, you cannot miss out on this place.
P.S.: I forgot to take photos of the food because we...
