Was there with family and friends after our outdoors activities at nearby area. Very accommodating and the ambiance itself bought us to another feelings. Its wooden complexes buildings was really amazing. Traditional architecture is the highlights here. Terra pong which should be read as terapung in Malay language means floating.... referring to the restaurant itself.... built like a water chalet inside small pond and floating. Very good and friendly service by their staff. Thank you to Ms Adriatie Mira for a very nice and brief info about this beautiful restaurant. Super spacious and clean Praying room available here. Menu.... was amazing with typical choices of Asia food especially East coast Malaysia and Thai elements. Those who wanted to organized special events such as gathering dinner, theme party or looking for perfect Malay weeding with a different venue and feelings this restaurant could be one of your choice to consider. They do have chalet which can accomodate 30 people in one time. Can accommodate 1500 people one time and very spacious parking area : can have more than10 busses one time. Read moreHi,
After reading many reviews, we decided to dine at Restoran Terra Pong. While the location looked beautiful with rolling hills and a forest in the background, the restaurant itself appeared old and run-down. The floors could definitely use some attention.
We were disappointed to find termites on our table, which we promptly disposed of. After placing our orders, the food arrived within five minutes, leading us to believe that everything was pre-cooked and reheated. This raised concerns about the freshness of the ingredients.
Our Kangkung Belacan lacked the distinct flavor of belacan and seemed to be cooked in a dark sauce rather than the traditional shrimp paste. The Telur Dadar was average at best. Unfortunately, our meal was further disrupted by ants crawling on our Telur Dadar plate and persistent flies.
The most unsettling experience was a cat climbing onto the table next to us and eating a prawn head. I helped them remove the cat. This entire experience was quite unbelievable.
Needless to say, we were very disappointed with our visit. We will not be returning to Restoran Terra Pong. We are confident we can find tastier food, better service, and a more pleasant ambiance...
Read moreMore than just a restaurant serving Thai food. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner himself and we were priviledge to learn from him of the work that he and his team of workers put into building the place.
The lake had to be dug out and filled with water.... why all that trouble ??? The lake creates a cooler surrounding for the restaurant, reducing energy cost.
Guess what? Instead of leaving the handcrafted wooden buildings from being left to rot in some remote kampung in Indonesia, it was bought, dismantled and brought to Terrapong and reassembled! Well worth the effort because the buildings require much carpentry skills which is diffcult to find nowadays.
So this restarant is quite the unintentional GREEN BUILDING! Priceless!
Oh...... the food is authentically Thai. Lovely fragrant herbalicious aromas abound and whafts from the kitchen. Slightly on the spicy side but unforgetably mouth watering!
We had our dinner at about 7pm... we lepak till about 10pm. Ok.... it was very cool & breezy & nice company & friendly staff & good service & good food & nice ambiance = Happy &...
