Update (May 2024)
I came again to this place after several years. (Last I came was 5 -7 years ago). The satay was juicy and tender, and quite well marinated. Even the beef satay doesn't feel rubbery. Now chicken satay costs 80 cents, beef satay costs 90 cents. Still cheap if compared with Penang ones.
We also ordered the ice kacang and laksa. Ice kacang was okay, sweetness is acceptable. Laksa was a bit diluted and sweet. I didn't like it so much. There are someone from outside selling otak otak on that night, the texture was a little different from what I used to eat. Didn't quite like it.
One thing I hope can improve is the tap water. The pressure is so low whenever people are in the toilet, the outside sink tap water stop working. Ini jer kena upgrade sikit.
Overall it's a nice place to have satay. Ample of parking space, spacious dining area. I have always come to this place to have their satay whenever I travel to SP or Alor Setar.
(Review from 2017) they have chicken, beef, mutton and the intestine. Personally, I have tried their chicken and beef. They are nicely prepared, and Barbecue to a nice, crispy and tender. The gravy/ sauce that comes with the satay is also very good. Best of all, it only costs RM0.45! I have been to so many satay joints in Malaysia, not once I have seen such inexpensive and good quality...
Read moreMost of the food is overpriced in my opinion. Satay was quite tasty and I think the price is fitting. But the bihun sup and nasi goreng ayam is far more expensive than in Alor Setar. The bihun sup has a strong msg taste and the nasi goreng ayam was so plain. Does not fit the price at all. Is it because the UiTM students and family make up the major customer base? It has quite a few food choices, so there is that. However, do prepare for a long wait during peak hours. Servers are not friendly. When asked what kind of nasi goreng they offer, the reply was, "Nasi goreng apa kak nak?" Menu was not given, so maybe should have just told me so I can make a decision? I should have ordered an obscure nasi goreng and see how...
Read moreUpon arrival, I noticed several employees lounging and chatting, seemingly disinterested in attending to customers. After a 5-minute wait, only one of them bothered to take our order. The service felt subpar, treating customers as if they were a bother. The cashier was equally indifferent, lacking any hint of warmth or a smile. The only saving grace was a kind uncle who greeted customers warmly with a smile.
Despite being a regular since 2018, this visit was the worst by far. The satay was overly dry and lacked the delicious flavor it once had. To make matters worse, as we neared the end of our meal, we discovered a dead fly in one of the satay dishes—an unpleasant surprise that underscored the lack of...
