Coming into the cafe, you're greeted with a simple 5 table set up in an unassuming suburb - you couldn't be more wrong. You'll be greeted with an outdoor kitchen that just exudes passion for Napoli-style pizza, with two authentic pizza ovens and a veritable armory of peels.
As we spoke to the owner, he informed us that a vast majority of his ingredients were sourced all the way from Naples, no small feat for a small place in Langkawi. The one exception was the buffalo mozzarella, sourced from a nearby farm and all the more delicious for it.
We ordered the 12 inch Margherita and Calzone with extra cheese and didn't regret a single bite - the crust was toothsome and crisp without being tough and the sauce complemented the mozzarella, pecorino and basil perfectly. But the real showstopper has to be the Calzone. It was laden with mozzarella and sauce, and topped with gloriously charred garlic pieces, that made for a fragrant, extravagant experience.
The owner's love for pizza really showed in everything he did; he made each and every piece individually and meticulously, making for marvelous...
Read moreLooking for a pizzeria, we ended up at the FB Café since the reviews were reasonably good. The restaurant is easily accessible by car and is located right on the main road. The dining area is not particularly large, but we had no trouble finding a seat as we were the first guests to arrive. The selection of pizzas is not very extensive, but we decided to order a Margherita pizza and a pizza with pepperoni salami. The pizzas and drinks were prepared relatively quickly and brought to us.
The pizza was decent, with a slightly crunchy crust and a soft edge, reminiscent of a Neapolitan pizza. However, I found the taste somewhat underwhelming. What particularly struck me was the amount of Parmesan or something similar on the pizzas, which was a bit off-putting. It would have been better if only mozzarella had been used. Additionally, the pizza was a bit over-seasoned, which detracted from its authenticity. That being said, it wasnât a bad pizza, just not quite...
Read moreIf you are staying in the Chenang area, the estimate driving (by car) duration to get here is around 20-25 mins and you will pass by some dark areas if driving at night. We went on a Thursday night for dinner at around 8:30pm, it wasnât busy and the wait time was very minimal.
As majority of the reviews claims, the pizza is phenomenal. The char was perfect on the crust, i believe they used sourdough base and it was so soft and had the perfect bite, the basil was fresh and tomato sauce was tangy. The smashed burger was fantastic too. The buns was soft but not too soft that it got soggy, the patty was juicy and seasoned nicely, and topped with crunchy pickles. The fries reminded me of McDonaldâs salty/crunchy fries.
The owner is so friendly and humble when i complimented their foods. Overall, such a good dinner and we enjoyed it very much. We will come back if we visit the...
