Old is Gold Kopitiam (老的好茶室) — Restaurant in Kedah

There's a reason why they have such low ratings. I did not choose to come here willingly but my friends said they wanted to try, so I tagged along. My friends arrived early and got their orders sent in while I arrive soon after and made my order shortly after. Guess whose food came first? Mine. All my friends were furious and reminded the waiter about that, multiple times. The waiter couldn't understand what is going on, didn't know what table number was ours, basically he was just standing or wandering there doing nothing, so we had to tell the other waiter, and he is not much of a help too.

List of funny things that happened throughout our dining there:- My group ordered three of the same food, only one came. Happened twice. One of the waiter did not know how to serve at all! When he was serving our porridge, he dare not pick up and bowl from his own tray and was looking at me expecting me to pick it up, he must be kidding me. Food came wrong, late, not once, not twice, but thrice. I do not even know how to describe the situation at this point. Food taste awful, drinks too, this is no joke, everyone agreed after tasting their own food.

In all fairness, there was a big group of other people at that time. One of the lady waitereess, I assume she is the lead or manager, manage to apologies to us and had a chit chat with us and even complimentary us with some food which somewhat mend things.

But sad to say, it will be my last time going there.

Been here a couple of times for breakfast and lunch. This place is above Bali Bali. A good place to escape the Alot Star heat as the place is fully air-conditioned.

Food is fantastic. My favorite is the chicken rice because the rice is oily and the chili is quite special. The curry mee is good since there is a lot of ham. Butter sugar toast and polo bun is also my breakfast favorite since they are generous with the butter.

Their drinks are also good. Sugarcane milk is quite special and it's the best drink to combat the Alor Star heat. Kopi gao gao is quite thick and worth it. The overall place is comfortable clean and unique with antiques as deco. Definitely...

No one serve me when I go in, have to take the menu and order sheet myself, perhaps its a busy time for them…but luckily the waiter still quite attentive after i submit my order…

Ordered loh mee and hokkien mee. Loh mee is a bit flavorful, portion is good. RM8.90 for loh mee is fine for me. Hokkien mee just normal.

Limited seat, so don’t expect very spacious seat or very goood service considering all the waiter there only...
