Marrybrown Gua Musang — Restaurant in Kelantan

I stopped by this place on our traffic jammed trip back to KL from Kota Bharu. I didnt want to stop at KFC and wanted to support a local brand. Marrybrown is usually pretty good, but this location could do significantly better. They had a constant stream of customers as they are probably riding high on the coat tails of the KFC ban. But they did not do a great job of preparing for more foot traffic. They were out of pretty much everything except for the fried chicken and some sides. No rice or sandwich dishes were available at all. I was very disappointed. So, we ended up just getting what they had left. The chicken tasted good, which is normal, but their sides were not. The salad tasted weird and their mashed potatoes were very bland (makes KFC mashed potatoes look like it came from a five star restaurant). Service was slow too. Almost 40 minutes to get our small basic order. Overall, i like going to Marrybrown but do not recommend this location. Management needs to plan better to ensure selection are available and service efficiency needs to be improved. There were many employees just there to prepare fried chicken and some sides. The food was excellent, and the customer service was satisfactory. However, I'm disappointed that on several occasions, when I arrived after 9 PM, many items were already sold out. Tonight, on 19/08/24, was particularly frustrating as by 9:15 p.m., all the main menu items were gone except for side orders. I kindly suggest increasing production, especially when there are boi cott going around. Thank you. Below par services, staff chose the flavours of chicken without asking customer’s permission, they just give what they had. Not to mentioned the chickens were rancid, seems expired as it turned out grey, with unpleasant taste. Forgetful and irresponsible staff taking their job easily where they are laughing and playing when working, didn’t double check customer’s orders causing customer getting items less than ordered.
