I recently dined at HK Hailam, and I must say, my experience fell far short of expectations. As soon as I arrived, I was confronted with an unwelcome surprise: I had to pay RM2 to a local who seemed to be having a great time collecting parking fees. It felt like easy money for him but an unnecessary nuisance for diners.

Once I settled in, I was eager to sample the seafood that the restaurant boasted of. Unfortunately, the food was far below average. I ordered the fish, which was a letdown. The portion contained little flesh and was riddled with bones, making it difficult to enjoy. If you're looking for a delightful seafood experience, I suggest keeping your search on the lookout for better options.

I was also taken aback by the outrageous price of crab, which was listed at RM138 per kg as of December 14, 2024. With prices like that, I simply couldn't justify ordering any.

To top it all off, in this digital age, it is baffling that this restaurant only accepts cash. With no options for credit cards or QR code payments, it felt outdated. This lack of convenient payment methods is a significant oversight that only added to my frustrations.

Overall, my visit to HK Hailam was not worth the hype. Between inadequate parking practices, subpar food, exorbitant prices, and archaic payment methods, I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are far better seafood options elsewhere that provide excellent quality without breaking the bank or leaving you feeling shortchanged. Save your time and money for a place that truly values your...

We have been eating around this area, especially the one nearer to the front junction and golf course in port klang but todays’ discovery is a must share as it’s our very first time. Crazy hidden but surely worth the trouble finding the restaurant. The fun facts though is that it’s just opposite the Port Klang Marina!!. Yup plenty might have shared about this Bagan Hailam and it’s restaurants but I just can’t resist posting about this one. The owner and staff is extra friendly and hospitable, the view is superb and the food is reasonable and tasty. We came on another rainy day hence having todi is a must 😂😂😂😂😂😂. The bbq “dirty” crab is a must and even the mid size ones are lots as all the crabs are brimming with meat. We couldn’t resist their recommendation of dry chilli salted cray fish ( Har Po in canton aka female mantis prawns ). The Hainam noodles topped our two person portion lunch and the only disappointment was the giant cockles which was sold out( a must try and target for next visit). The XXL tiger prawns was looking very sumptuous as well and definitely on our list of must try. Come here for the view and ambiance too as the location will surprise you ( spoiler mode: over looking the port klang marina with lots of...

Not so good lo. Food very very overpriced. Portion like for baby. Crab not fresh. Not too wheelchair accessible. Other food ok lah. Not the best. Definitely got better restaurants out there. Klang got so many good seafood. Try others pls.

Parking outdoor, public space, need to pay rm2. Don't understand why.

No on fan. Even though we went at night, sometimes hot sometimes cold. Relying on freaking natural wind. Why so stingy when you charge the food SOOOOOO expensive?? Don't understand why.

Honestly don't recommend this place la. But if you really want to try, ok also wan. Maybe order sotong (not too bad. Crispy) mantis prawn also ok. BUT PLS LA. SO EXPENSIVE. FOR WHAT. GOT BETTER PLACES!!!

Ok lah. Their service friendly is friendly. But hor, KEEP ON TALKING TO US WHEN EATING WAN O!!! can I have a moment of peace when eating. Haiyo. Really don't understand why. Pls la.

If you reading until now. I hope you get what I mean. Really one of the worst in this area and recent restaurants that I have tried. Not putting hate in this restaurant. Just a genuine comment from me...

Overall summary 3/5: mediocre food, average service and average environment. Food 2.5/5: The Omelet Oyster (蠔煎, RM 15) was the best dish, generous portion of oysters and the omelet was crisp and not oily. The Teochew Steam Siakap (RM 50.50, 潮州蒸石甲) was ok. The Hailam Style Fried Prawns (RM 26) was disappointing, a bit of monotone in flavor, we should have ordered butter prawns instead. The crabmeat fried rice (RM 15 each, minimum order 2) was ok, interesting idea but nothing special. Service 3/5: We went early to avoid crowd, but it still took about 20 minutes for them to serve the omelet. You can tell there are about 4 staff around, but only 1 is actively responding to customers. Environment 3/5: The sea view is ok, provided if you don't look down/don't look at the shore. You will lose appetite. The restaurant itself is ok, there's basin for you to wash your hands. The toilet is squad toilet. Parking: Despite many said needing to pay, there's no one approach us for the parking fees. Granted, no many parking spaces available, we came early yet almost full.
