If you’re looking to explore local flavors, a visit to Must Try Local Laksa Ikan Sekoq is worth considering. This eatery offers a unique take on traditional laksa by featuring ikan kembung, a type of mackerel, in their dish. The laksa’s flavor is decent, though it may not stand out dramatically among other laksa options in the area. The seasoning and spice blend are fairly standard, and while the fish adds a touch of authenticity, the overall taste could use a bit more depth.

On a more positive note, the cendol—a classic Malaysian dessert made from shaved ice, palm sugar, and coconut milk—is a refreshing complement to the meal and worth trying. The drink is well-prepared and offers a pleasant, sweet contrast to the savory laksa.

One unique aspect of this spot is its location; you can enjoy your meal while watching airplanes take off, which adds an interesting touch to the dining experience. With an overall cost of RM 14, the price is reasonable for what’s offered. If you’re in the area and looking for a casual dining spot with a bit of aviation flair, this place might be...

ORDINARY FOOD WITH EXTRAORDINARY VIEW

Along this road, there are many food trucks/stalls selling laksa ikan sekoq. Some claimed their laksa is "kuah pekat". I went to 2 stalls and both were "kuih cair" despite one claiming kuah pekat😅 you can request "laksa biasa" (without the ikan sekoq) , which is cheaper and also to avoid food waste because I can't finish a whole fish.

These stalls also sell different food: pasembor, rojak, mi sup, cendol etc.

Which stall should you choose?

PICK THE PLACE WITH THE VIEW AND THE KIND OF TABLE THAT YOU WANT • Some stalls have canopy • Some have fancier table cloth • Some are under trees

You can also see the aeroplane landing here. So you might want a table with clear view of the airport too.

Even when it is raining, you can come eat here. BUT there is only like 3 gazebo And you can't really enjoy the sea view when it was raining. So, not recommended to go when it is raining.

The food taste is ordinary, but the...

Exceptional excellent local authentic laksa by the beach, airport & road side. Lovely view of aircraft landing or taking off. Enjoy sea breeze while enjoying your laksa below a shady trees. An estimate of over 30tables. Quick order by pointing @ what you like on your plate of local rojak(mixture of food topped with blend & coarse non sweet peanut gravy).

Next the main course of super thick blended fish gravy over thick rice noodle & garnished with sliced lettuce & half an egg.....wait...an Extra medium size ikan Kembung (unscaled 🤪). Enjoy another favourite ie spicy either 1/2 or 1 butterfly BBQ chicken. 😋😋😋. Cool down with local ice lava ng/ ice shaving or coconut water. Pay @ counter with a lovely smiling cashier while picking up a serviette & leave with free flow of mandarin orange. Highly recommend
