My wife and I visited the restaurant on 27/2/2024, drawn in by the numerous positive reviews. However, our experience today left much to be desired:
Despite the generous portions and flavorful spice of the fish, both fish were undercooked. Upon pressing the fish, we noticed blood, indicating they were raw. While we requested replacements, I had to share my wife's dish as mine was not ready and required an additional 10-15 minutes. We ended up taking mine as a takeaway. What disappointed us further was the lack of acknowledgment or apology from the staff, despite my bringing the issue to their attention twice. It seemed as though they regarded the situation as normal and didn't take our concerns seriously. The message like 'this is normal la Bro here it's OK we will change for you no need to make noise'.
Additionally, we found the prices to be quite steep. Moreover, no receipt was offered during payment, which, while not insisted upon, would have been appreciated for record-keeping purposes.
Overall, while the restaurant may have garnered many positive reviews, our experience today fell short due to the undercooked fish, slight high prices, and no receipt offered during the payment (I admit i did not request for it). I hope this feedback serves to improve the dining experience for future patrons. It's imperative that the staff ensure the fish is properly cooked before serving it to customers. I trust the staff will remember me, given that we had to replace the fish...
Read moreFood was superb. The pais cooked with wood fire was especially excellent. It's very spicy, though.
As we went during the weekend, the place was packed during lunchtime. It's a bit of a hassle to pay for the food as there were 15 of us and we asked the elders to sit first while we ferried the food upstairs. The hard part is because the cashiers refuse to go upstairs to tally the orders. You would have to write down everything and go downstairs to pay for it first.
Funny part- full plate of rice is RM2 while half a plate is RM1.50. Better to take a full plate and share it with another person. Just take an extra plate from the serving area.
We decided to takeaway some lauk. There is a dedicated area for takeaway food. However, we took such a long time just waiting for the staff to pack the food. They were working at a glacial pace. I nearly walked off due to frustration. Please improve on service and this place will...
Read more🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 If you're in Temerloh and craving authentic Pahang-style patin dishes, Kancil Raja Patin HQ is an absolute must-visit! We had the gulai tempoyak and pais, both were out of this world. The gulai was rich, tangy, and perfectly balanced, while the pais was aromatic and packed with flavor. We also tried their plain sup, ulam, ayam goreng, and ended the meal with a refreshing bowl of lai chee kang. Every single dish was a hit!
The portions? Humongous. You definitely get your money’s worth here. The restaurant itself is squeaky clean. We even noticed it proudly displays an “A” cleanliness rating. The ambiance was welcoming, and the owner was incredibly friendly and warm, making the whole experience even more memorable.
We had an absolute blast. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in top-notch traditional Malay cuisine in a spotless,...
