Restoran Rompin Baru — Restaurant in Pahang

The gem in rompin. Fresh seafood and reasonable price. The owner is good in recommending dishes and know how to adjust portion for the right amount of diners. They cook their dishes with unique flavours, for example the sea prawn fried with garlic, I have never seen people cook this way and it’s surprisingly good. Came to this area for yearly work assignment for few days and never regret to have all my dinners there when in rompin. Came here early 2022 and came again early 2023, i would say they maintain their food quality pretty well and didn’t feel much of the pinch from rising cost of living from their charges. Kudos!

Comparing to Restoran ABC which you will see somewhere at the road travelling from muadzam shah to rompin, food in Restoran ABC is a lot pricier and their food is salty. But I don’t think there’s better choices if u need to grab a decent lunch...

Simple food but big on flavors! This could be the best seafood restaurant I’ve had and seriously none in Singapore can compare.

The humble boss recommended that must try LaLa Soup, Steam Ikan Tapah and Grilled Sotong, all are so fresh and since it’s fresh, they’ll all be beautiful. We normally had spicy sambal sotong however the sotong here is prepared using the simplest ingredients to enhance the flavour and in fact, it goes the same with the steam fish and lala soup, even the stir fry kangkong is tasty! Nothing is so fanciful in ingredients, it’s just the way how the chef prepared the dishes.

Furthermore, the boss makes the customers feel that they are valued! He took the effort to tell stories about the dishes and how to eat to get the best taste. He said to me “你要珍惜这个味道” 而我会为了这个味道重游rompin！

Delicious Chinese cuisine. The dishes were tasty and the portions were just right. Not too much and not too little. Food was served hot straight from the wok, so don't expect everything to arrive at the same time. The proprietor speaks English very well, so there is no issue with communications here.
