Revisited this restaurant after quite a number of years. Verdict.....ok. We arrived pretty early in a weekday morning to a sleepy small town which was largely void of traffic and even humans. Had to wait for the goodies to be brought out. Apart from the durian tart, we ordered the wu kok, char siew pau, egg tarts, dimsum as they were progressively brought out. The coffee was good......hot and adequately thick after a long drive. Durian tart was ok. Unlike before, it tasted not as intense. But likely due to the fact that the more intense durians are now more accessible e.g. MK, 101, red prawn, black thorn. Restaurant likely stuck to the original recipe hence its is a good thing.
Pricing was a tad on the high side. Likely due to the tourists driving demand upwards.
Service wise was fine. The ladies were pretty friendly but the man was probably still getting into the day hence was slightly on the moody side. But no issues as he was still serving us with no complaints. Parking was easy and ample in front of the medan selera next to it.
All modes of payment are accepted in tgis restaurant incl....
Read moreAvoid! It loses its hay day ! We were on the way back from Cherating on Sunday. Detoured a bit from the highway and came to Yip Kee with intention to try their best dishes again. Sang Har Noodle , for one person was RM50.75. There's a fresh water prawn, split into halves and cooked with noodle. It's just average. Not worth of the detour. Steamed Patin fish - disgusting !!!!! The fish was cold when served to us. The meat seemed to have soaked into the soy sauce for quite sometimes. It's not freshly cooked. Complaint to the owner and was told the fish was fresh ! At the end the dish was taken out from our bill, after one of the workers saw me taking photos of the dish. Venison hor fun - omg tasteless !!!! Oyster spring roll - I could do better !! The filling was a bit off. They are not freshly made. Overall, it's a very very...

We recently stopped for lunch at Yik Kee Restaurant on our way to Karak. Looking for some good sang har mee, we were initially drawn to their pictures on Google Maps. However, upon arrival, we were quite surprised to learn the sang har mee was priced at RM160 for just two people. This seemed very expensive compared to other options in Karak.
Since the price was unexpected, we decided to play it safe and ordered the seafood noodle soup instead. Unfortunately, the dish ended up being quite bland and lacked flavor.
Overall, our experience at Yik Kee Restaurant was disappointing. The high price for the sang har mee and the underwhelming taste of the seafood noodle left us feeling unsatisfied. Unfortunately, we won't be returning to Yik Kee Restaurant...
