My family patronises this restaurant almost every week. Taste of food has improved overtime, especially charsiew bao, yam puffs, egg tarts, fried carrot cake n various prawn dumplings. Delicious.
However, the plates, bowls and cutlery used are sub-par, old-looking and unhealthy melanine material. Even hot porridge n fried carrot cake is served on thin and old looking melamine tableware. Chilli sauces are served in plastic containers ware and worst of all, a disposable plastic spoon is stored inside it. Sincerely hope your restaurant can look into the ill and dangerous health effects of microplastics leeching into foods - happens when hot temperature and acidic/spicy foods come into contact with plastic material. This includes bottles, cutlery, plastic bags, even chopping boards. Melamine shedding has also been reported in the news in the past before.
The local F&B industry n worldwide needs to be educated on this so that consumers can eat happily and healthily.
Hope you guys consider switching to ceramic, glass n porcelain ware over time. Your restaurant already made much effort on changes to ambience (air conditioning) and food taste. A small suggestion to serve fried carrot cake on a piece of banana or lotus leaf, if choose to continue using...
Read moreOn our last day in ipoh, we felt some pressure like our visit to ipoh couldn't be complete without sampling them. So we searched some options near by where we stayed, and this botanic dim sum came up,... As we flipped over the menu, our excitement build up fast as some of items aren't that commonly seen in dim sum restaurant we go in kl. Like fish fillet topped steamed ones, fried corns mayo flavored ones, ... Overall most dim sums we had is pretty good in taste. My personal favorite is lo ma gai and shao long bao. I can repeat them 3 times on and on. But the chicken feet is too soft, more runny in texture like kinda slimy, I expected it to be more gelatinously crunchy. The egg yolk bun is too sweet to my liking. The best part of all is that the staff is all friendly and attentive. 🇲🇾👍😋 we will for sure drop by again whenever we go to...
