Date of visit: Sunday (11-6-23) A rather well-hidden dining spot under a house owned by a warm and friendly Malay-Japanese couple who made every customer felt welcome. Limited tables and food may take some time before they get sent out so please be patient. Remember that this is run by a husband-wife duo Food tasted decent with affordable prices. We ordered Butterfly Pea tea. Tasted quite sweet on its own but when mixed with lime and lemon, the flavour was balanced out and it tasted soothing and refreshing. Masala Omelette was quite large with a nice fragrant. Taste-wise not too strong, with a just light spicy, salty and onion-y taste that anyone can enjoy Murtabak Meggie was a feel-good comfort food. Light taste, a bit salty with a very mild curry, but that’s okay Garlic Omuritce With Cheese had a light garlicky taste and mildly salty taste from the cheese. We added on Karaage Chicken which was crispy, delicate and moist with a mildly sweet sauce to it. When eaten together, the overall taste was pleasant Overall the food may not be the most perfect, but they didn’t have to be. People come there for the vibe and the warm service by the owners, the decent food plus the atmosphere more than...

I laughed at my wife's expression when we're in our car outside this place.

"Ni bukan rumah orang ke bang?"

But we got in, and to our surprise, it got a chill kampung vibe with nice music ambience.

Now for the food, authentic japanese. No influence from malaysia taste. Kakiage chicken were so perfectly crispy, the batter is to my liking, and the japanese rice is so nice! At first, i didn't touch the salad, thinking that it'll be just plain salad. But i was wrong. It was not a lazy salad. It was lightly seasoned. Miso soup was.... better than any other japanese food chain because of the seaweed or dashi taste.

The omurice was... to my wife's liking. And she's very cerewet about fried rice. The tomato omurice was perfect.

As for the beverages, it was okay. But, i come here for the food, all the way from KL.

Oh, and to Mr Oyen, the stray cat, please do your business far away, okay?...

Honestly, I never know that this cafe exist just around my neighbourhood. Its just only 200 metre from my home! I found this lovely cafe when I'm on my way searching for any warung that open because I'm so hungry after work. I didn't know that this cafe open from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm only but the owner Keiko was so nice to invite me and show me available menu that she can serve me. Very nice and cheerful owner! I ordered Chicken Karaage Burger and Cube Coffee Milk and I'm so happy with what I'm order! Suit my taste and very delicious because it served hot. This cafe have lots of others menu and you can get also Japanese food like bento, omurice, katsu and etc. They also serve unique and creative drinks too. Please do come and try your own. Very recommended! Thank you Keiko and Hippi Garden Cafe for making this place my fav place to go again and again! Later I will come with my...
