The only Authentic Arab delicacies that is available in sabah that is located at taman indah permai, sepanggar Sabah. People who are craving for the delicate dishes of middle-east must come to mashawi restaurant.

the trip to here from KK roughly take 20 to 30 minutes and easily spotted is you are familiar with the road with GPS support. The crowds is big in there and you can ask around if you are unable to find it because it is located a bit hidden among the buildings.

Many people had told that their Nasi Arab is totally delicious with the addition of Variety of selection of meat such as lamb , chicken and others. The price is much reasonable if compared to other similar level of restaurant.

Upon entering the restaurant, i wad shocked to find that all the customer mainly constitute of malay people and cannot see any chinese or other races. Maybe most chinese prefer the normal asian foods ot maybe too far to be reach for them or much more other valid reasons. But this did not stop me for taking my order as i am deeply craving to eat some unique arabian dishes.

My 1st order is the Nasi arab with Lamb stew and the cordial rose witb grass jelly drinks. The staff recommended me to try the lamb stew as most customer had ordered it. The waitress is lovely and kind and willi to help you out in any manners. Upon sitting down, sightseeing the decoration there is mediocre but not extremely bad, there is much more improvent to be made in the future.

My Rose with grass jelly arrived within 3 minutes and i was so happy that the proporiton of the drink with money is really worth it. Mashawi had gave such generous amount of the drinks which made me quite happy on that. Now, the most impressive is the Lamb stew that came round 7 miutes of wait only. It is the fastest dishes that are ever serve to me.

Back to the taste of it, the Lamb stew really make my day, it is really cooked well and the combination with the nasi arab is wonderful, the rich flavour gravy with the delicate tender and soft of the lamb meat really make anyone irrestible to eat more and more. After finishing my lamb stew, i am still hungry ( maybe due to the delicious lamb stew that increases my appetite). Then , i order the Chicken pita set ( khubz) which cost only rm 8 for a good portion of it. The Pita arrive less than 10 minutes. The taste blend well with the chicken and the extra cheese over the opening of the pita really increase the flavour of the bread and the chiken making it a whole better dishes overall.

Upon leaving, i feel so much happy for the dinner. Therefore, i wanted to come again and try other menu that is available in...

I first had the Mandhi Set with Grilled Lamb back when I was still in the hospital, brought by my husband. The tapas was by the way well packed. I was so impressed and my husband told me stories about the place. He described it that it was exclusive.

Today I had the privilege to wonder around, and decided to drop by. And I am nothing but happy.

The menu was magical, it has dishes that I only have seen in YouTube, and this is my first time of seeing a middle eastern menu. I believe people come here for the pita bread. Should try this on some other time.

The waitress was so patient and she's kind enough to describe the menu. I am very please w the service. I ordered cold Chai Milk Tea RM3.80 and Chicken Mashawi RM12.90. And it arrived few minutes. I was amazed to see the proportion, that dipping sauce of chilli and garlic, that's a must, I had to ask twice. That Chai is for 2 persons to drink, it was huge.

They have indoor and outdoor seatings, inside I counter there are 16 tables, the rectangular table u can fit up to 6 to 8 ppl. But outside I have lost counted. This evening there was 8 tables occupied, 3 of them was by single customer like me. Even the Chinese was here too, news do spread fast when there's a good place to eat

And I must say, the owner is definitely a rajin person, he is very particular, he...

This place is really delicious and crowded . The reason why i am giving 4 stars would be the portion seems doesnt suit with the price. I ordered kefza beef and when it arrived, i was shocked recieving two sates of minched beef. The serving was very slow and seemed unfair as some people who came in later and ordered later recieved their dish first compared to me who came in earlier and ordered earlier. When recieving my food, it is already cool down as the dish has been prep meal.

Hoping they can improve on the portions and...

We orders nasi arab for chicken and beef set. The portion is huge which suitable for family and friend gathering. For taste, I love chicken more because beef comes with the taste of spies which is good for authentic taste. This place also sell baklava (arabic sweet) and kunafa (google yourself). Very recommended for everyone to try the original taste of arabic dish as their owners comes from there. Don't forget to try their arabic pizza. Really recommendes.

Ordered chicken kebab, beef stew, mushroom soup & kunafa. Chicken kebab is quite dry but tastes ok; beef stew is tasty. Mushroom soup using real mushrooms but a bit thin. I prefer mushroom soup that is thick (kaw) & creamier. Kunafa, I think, is a bit pricy for its size & too sweet for my liking. Overall, food here is acceptable, but hoping that they can make improvements here & there.
