This place is a must visit at least once, went there today for the first time, the road up the hill is VERY steep, narrow and lots of tight corners, at least it’s paved/concrete all the way up. Once up there I was pleasantly surprised, lots of seating and some tables right at the edge so that you get a view over the whole area all the way to the ocean. Food,, I had the beef/pepperoni pizza and I wouldn’t recommend it at all, I don’t know what kind of cheese they use but it wasn’t good at all, no tomato sauce either and the pepperoni didn’t taste anything, someone also forgot to put the beer in the fridge but the waitress put it in a bucket with ice so I guess that worked out in the end. Service,, a little bit more engagement and a little smile wouldn’t hurt What the food was lacking the facility and the view more than made up for it, I really enjoyed my visit there, very relaxing and peaceful watching the sun set while having dinner, highly recommend a visit here, I would have given all 5 stars but the food and the service was not quite there to get full points. If you use Grab to go there it shouldn’t be a problem, going back home though can be an issue, I had a few drivers cancel on me but finally got someone that picked me up, the wait was also quite long so keep that in mind

The journey to Tipsi Asi was an unforgettable and nerve racking experience, I must say that, probably 15 minutes through an unpaved narrow road uphill, it is best to go in a 4 wheel, on a very good day. There were other smaller cars when we reach the restaurant anyway, so I will say that you just have to be a very competent driver 😂🤣 these locals don't play. Nonetheless, the reward is the most spectacular view of the city, the sea or the vast beautiful landscape of the countryside. The food is affordable, the steak was really flavorful and delicious. The mocktail was really good too. Go for the sunset, if you can stomach the journey after dark. I'm sure in rainy weather it would be a gorgeous view but you probably will have to wait to leave. Overall it was an amazing visit. Hope to go again. Serve no pork.

Non-halal. Perfect spot for lunch or dinner to bring your date with. Very nice sunset view overlooking Kota Kinabalu and the South China Sea. Nice ambience with good music and live acoustic band. Pricey for my taste but it’s quite worth it if you wanna splurge a bit for that extra oomf to impress your crush how alluring you are with that fairy light background and sexy jazz music. Cons: You have to go through a narrow and rocky uphill road with a few minor pot holes to reach the restaurant. Sometimes overcast can ruin the immersion. Parking wise; didn’t have any problem last time but it CAN get crowded so call ahead if you wanna secure a spot or table reservation in advance.

The Tipsy Asi is a hidden gem in Penampang, Sabah. It is located in a hilly area, so it has a nice breeze and a great view of the surrounding countryside. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid-back, and the staff are friendly and attentive.

The kitchen is catered by Uncle Fred's BBQ & Smokehouse. Its menu features a variety of Western and Asian dishes, all of which are made with fresh, local ingredients. You'll find pizzas with smoked meat toppings, burgers, pasta, etc., are particularly good.

The Tipsy Asi also offer a wide selection of drinks, including beers, local wines, and cocktails.

I would highly recommend The Tipsy Asi to anyone looking for a great place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. The atmosphere is perfect for a chill out romantic evening or a night out with friends.

Overall, I had a great experience at The Tipsy Asi and would definitely recommend...
