Pondok Elis — Restaurant in Sarawak

A nice eatery of local specialty in Kuching. We went there for brunch on Friday, luckily not much patrons yet around 10am. But if you plan to go with a big group, it’s better to contact them earlier for reservation. Most of menu consists of rice and noodle based, cooked perfectly with local ingredients. We’ve tried Nasi Aruk Terubok, Nasi Ayam Penyet, Nasi Goreng Abang Osman and Mee Jawa. We really satisfied with the tastes, potions and the prices are reasonable. The eatery is located in housing area and the place itself is well maintained with plants and flowers, giving a calm and cozy vibe. We enjoyed our food slowly as the weather that day was bit breezy and cloudy. All staffs are nice and helpful, good at recommendations and explanations. Local and international tourists alike should really come here to experience the tasty...

First impression is very important. The location is very calm with indoor and outdoor sitting. My main purpose is to savour mee Jawa and I am impressed with their customer service. They notified me earlier that the mee Jawa is missing an ingredient call "taugeh" and ask if that would be an issue to me. We agree the ingredient is also crucial but since I want to gauge how was the gravy therefore it is not an issue for me....

came here for breakfast. I think people starts coming in around 8am + onwards, but theres enough tables though. Parking a bit susah. ordered nasi aruk with ikan terubok, to me the taste was just ok. my friend ordered mee jawa but was not to her liking. but i loveee the atmosphere though, sangat calming. and the drinks sedap! will come again coz wanna try other food...
