Secret Recipe Betong — Restaurant in Sarawak

Staff are friendly here, and the interior design is cosy and warm. However, there are some issues that need to be rectified for a better satisfaction of customers. First, payment via Visa/MasterCard is quite hard here because the card machine often doesn't work, especially during peak hours. Next, regarding the food they serve: they frequently “run out” of certain food items on the menu, e.g. lamb/beef dishes, so often that these items are considered nonexistent. And for the greens, most of the time the salads are being replaced with some poorly prepared, chunky cabbage slices which are not pleasant to sight and taste. As for their main specialty i.e. the cakes: I find it rather sad to see multiple cracks and dents over most of the cheesecakes, most likely due to improper storage or handling (over-freezing/improper thawing). I ate here last Saturday (19th September 2020) and ordered curry mee, which I always order whenever I visit Secret Recipe.

Sadly for me, the curry mee that I had here was quite different from the usual version that I got in other branches.

So many missing condiments. I can list them down. No sambal. Weird, right? Fortunately, they gave me one after I requested for that from the employee. And then, no hard boiled egg, no bean sprouts, no dried tofu puffs. The taste was the same, thanks for that.

Staff left the food in microwave for 30 minute before serving. Spagheti is soggy. Bad service and there is no even customer inside the shop. We are waiting for the food for more...
