Walked in to the restaurant last Saturday around 8:15pm. At the entrance, I saw a signboard that it is fully booked. We didn't know that this place requires booking to dine in. Luckily I managed to find an empty table of 4.
The staffs asked us if we're willing to wait as it'll take longer for them to prepare the food since there're many people who have pre-booked their meals. Having walked all day closed to 10km and after driving through dark & narrow kampung road to reach the restaurant, I'm too tired to find another place to dine in so yeah we succumbed to waiting close to 1.5 hour for our food to arrive.
We ordered Set A which cost RM60 for 3 people: Siakap (3 rasa I think), sotong goreng, telur dadar, sup ketam (imitation crab), stir-fried bokchoy, rice and a jug of chinese tea. Then we ordered butter prawn and dried chili crab. Semuanya sedap-sedap, mouth-watering and flavourful except for sotong goreng, they use a smaller squid and it's kinda tough to chew.
All of that only cost RM100 which is super cheap. The portion of the dish is modest, most probably smaller than normally served in other restaurant but then again, their price is likely half of price we normally pay at other restaurant. So I won't complain on the portion wise because it's more than enough for 3 of us and a toddler. If you're not sure, ask them or just peek at the dishes your next table ordered.
There're toilet and surau facility. Since we have to wait so long, each of us took our turn to perform prayers. There's also a swing and a gachapon (capsule toy machine) so kids can enjoy their time while waiting for the food. The mobile network coverage is weak in this area and we have trouble to use internet or GPS. Luckily, they provides free Wi-Fi. The parking is quite limited though.
When the food arrived, we were starving that we couldn't be bothered to take photos. The owner & staffs are very friendly and courteous. They keep apologizing for the delay in serving the food. Would love to comeback again and try all other dishes but definitely will have to book in advance in the future. Hope that the restaurant can improve...
Read moreWe drove all the way to sekinchan just to eat at this restaurant. It was our first time here. Location wise its situated in a typical kampung area. You would not have guessed its a chinese muslim restaurant. It looks like your average warung kampung. Parking is a nightmare if you come here during peak period.
All the trouble is paid off with the food they serve here. Its delicious..really really delicious..i was sceptical at first. We had the large butter prawn(rm12) crab meat soup (RM12) and the dried chilli chicken (RM9).. The chicken was my favorite..it was so flavourful..prawns were huge and fresh!..it show that the food here was prepared with skills. Food here was limited but hands down 5star quality.
So why the 4 stars The only down side about this place is the rice served..to have chinese food its best to have it with fragrant rice..they use normal beras here..not a very good one at that..irony of it is that its situated in the heart of selangor paddy field. Drinks need improvement too..i had the carrot juice..it was sweet with no taste of carrot. Hope that the owners can improve on the respective areas. But then again the dishes here save the day..it was really good!
The place have a surau to pray so thats a plus..owners are really friendly! Kudos to that..
Overall..do give it a try..I will surely be back on...
Read moreYou would never expect to find a 5 star hotel trained chef serving halal Chinese food in the middle of a Malay kampong but after going through single lane roads, you’ll come across Chef Danial Chinese Muslim Restaurant. Judging from the cars parked willy nilly in any spot available, the food must be good. We ordered a simple fare of beef with black pepper, buttermilk prawns, Pak Choi with garlic and Prawn noodles and we were not disappointed. The orders were efficiently managed with an easy and friendly smile (Chef Danial’s son managing this in English, Malay and Chinese) and the dishes came out piping hot. The taste was delicious without being fussy and the prawns especially did not disappoint. Overall, worth the 1.6 hours...
