Golden Sea Restaurant Morib — Restaurant in Selangor

This venue doesn't even deserve a single star rating. A family trip out of the city to eat some fresh seafood and spend some quality time ruined by this restaurant and the manager/owner! We asked for a small fish and had been given an estimate RM30-RM50 by the manager or the boss which seemed very disinterested in our patronage. We are 2 adults and a toddler. Our order had been a small fish, fried clam noodle and salted egg calamari. When the steamed fish arrived, it was small. Definitely no more than 600gm. I'm not an expert with fish but i do groceries, cook and have eaten enough fresh seafood to know when a fish is not fresh. This fish was probably kept in cold storage for awhile. Not only was the fish not fresh, the sauce was tasteless. The fried clam noodle was tasteless. The calamari passable. We did complain about the fish but the manager just didn't care. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures to show here. We brushed off the poor service and food quality to enjoy our time with our child on the beach. When it came time to pay that's when we felt really cheated. The small stale fish was RM50! The noodles and calamari was priced slightly high but given the poor quality, not worth it. When we complained the high fish price, the manager just brushed us off stating its appropriately priced! No fish weight was given. The fish description on the receipt was Jujube! A jujube is a red date! They farm their own fish in tanks next to the dining area. Why serve us poor quality fish? The only thing good at this venue is you can just walk out on the flat beach. However, there is only 1 pipe to clean up next to the beach. There was a large pool of dirty water and discarded food under the faucet! The toilets are not great either. The grounds are unkempt. The owner obviously doesn't care or take pride in beautifying the place with all the inflated earnings they keep.

If you really,really, really must come here to eat then don't order the fish or...

One of the few restaurants near Morib Gold Coast.. This one has the nicest view and Ambience 4.5 🌟. You can even grab a pail and some salt... To catch Bamboo Clams (also called Razor Clams) right outside the beach area of the restaurant. Excellent place to go if u r in for some outdoor activities.

Well, let's get back to our food review... the seafood here is below average and almost everything we tried here (mainly steamed seafood) is tasteless. We tried the Pak Chok Har 2 🌟 (steamed prawns) and it taste like rubber. Too overcooked and tasteless. Didn't even finish the dish. The Scallop steamed 2.5 🌟 ... Was also equally bad.

We were also excited to try the Steamed Mud Crab (XXL) 2.5 🌟 which came as a dissapointment as the crab is very fresh but the cooking is tasteless. This is the most expensive dish we ordered at RM198. Note: If you come here.. Do order and choose non steamed dishes such as Kam Heong or Salted or curry.. Which will definitely be much nicer.

The Frice Rice 🍚 topped with Fried Egg 3.5 🌟 was actually quite ok. The potato leaf vegetable 4 🌟 was actually good also. In any case, I think this is a place worth visiting (despite the not so yummy food) as it has ample parking, lots of outdoor activities including clam fishing, outdoor walk, etc and it even has a swing which kids will love. The service here is also really good.

Tucked away, at the “gold coast” of Banting, is this picturesque restaurant. We managed to arrive just in time for sunset and it was truly stunning.

The view and the clean beach is quite impressive.

This restaurant is spacious and the service was very prompt.

1. Ginger wine prawns - 8/10 The soup was delicious, not overpowering. Prawns were fresh and cooked just right. Very appetizing and we cleared the soup to the last drop.

2. Sweet potato leaves - 5/10 Just normal, abit overcooked.

3. Kam Heong Baby Squid - 10/10 Super delicious!! Surprisingly flavorful, delicious and well cooked. The best dish of the night!

4. Steamed Grouper: 8/10 Simple and well executed. The fish is cooked well. The fish was fresh. I liked it alot :) alot of meat on this grouper.

5. Bamboo Clam Bihun: 8.5/10 Unique and so tasty. The flavors and the wokhei is quite amazing. Very delicious dish.

Overall Score: 7.9/10

While the presentation of every dish can be improved (a lot! 🤭 look at the way the dishes are give. Lol) the view is quite beautiful! So i will add a bonus of 0.1 score only. 🤭
