Had lunch here after Ching Ming. Don’t let the look of this restaurant fool you. Very famous restaurant apparently, there’s pics of local and foreign celebrities and newspaper clippings on the wall. They were still setting up the restaurant @ 0900. Lady boss is very friendly. Ordered everything from the menu displayed.
Yam and pork ribs noodle - for this dish to be good it has to be prepared a day or 2 earlier. Yam lovers will love this dish. Not much meat to go around as it’s ribs. For me a so-so dish as I’m not really a yam lover. Special - yes.
White vege & egg noodle - white as in the soup/gravy is white, tons of vegetables, fried egg and meat of your choice. This I like, I like to so much so that I’ve ordered 2nd round. Very special can’t get anywhere. Highly recommend.
Steamed tilapia fish - very nice and fresh tilapia, best I’ve ever had, lady boss said it’s wild caught, no muddy taste at all and very bouncy. The gravy is not too salty, goes very well with rice. Easily the dish of the day for me.
Salted egg chicken - another surprise! Chicken is boneless, crispy and coated well with salted egg. A tad salty if eaten as is, best with rice.
Butter tofu - yums! Then butter cream flakes are crunchy, savory goodness also goes very well with rice. Or else it’ll be too salty.
Deep fried Brinjal - brinjal like I’ve never tasted before, tasted like western style cooked to perfection not too soft. Me likely. Special.
Place is without AC. Seatings are well placed, not cramped. Parking plenty possibly because we were early. Service is fast, only lady boss, 1 foreign worker and husband chef. Since there’s only 3 person manning the restaurant, wait time can be long if the restaurant is full.
Total bill RM383 for 2 tables. Price is reasonable for the food quality, special, so special that I’ve never tasted anything like it before, would travel just for the tilapia and white noodle. Lady boss said limited stock for the fish. Toilet is located at the 2nd floor, kinda weird but that’s...
Read moreHere for our lunch, as it is a pets friendly restaurant 🤭
Food tasted ok.. the signature yam ribs noodle was ok too.. can taste the yam but seems a bit overcooked, as the noodle became so soft already 🫣… salted egg fried chicken tasted good, but would be better with more chicken meat instead of chicken skin 🫣… vegetables also, mixture of fresh and not so fresh one.. some can’t really chew it 🫣…
Prepare for a long waiting time.. during lunch time.. as they took quite a long time to cook and prepare the drinks too.. due to lacking of manpower (I guess the boss do the cooking, the lady boss need to help out in the kitchen, taking care of the floor, also preparing the drinks 🫣)…
Overall, not bad and can give it a try if you are just...
Read moreBest fried rice ever! We stumbled into this restaurant, which located in the middle of no where (mainly car workshops area). Noticed it's a stopever from north (Ipoh) heading to Genting, using the Batang Kali way. Had simple lunch here, mainly for it lohmee, instead found their fried rice looks simple but tasty. Great found.. will drop by again if we happen to...
