It started off on a good note: a nice view with mudskippers & crabs to watch.
It went downhill from there.
The food DID arrive in a timely fashion, probably because the restaurant was only half full at lunchtime on a weekend. That should have rung some alarm bells though.
Lala -- half the shells were empty. When we told the lady supervisor we ordered from: she replied, "This is common for lala, the meat will fall off." OK... Sadly, the meat must have fallen off our plate (and into someone else's mouth) as there was NO stray meat in our plate.
Tofu -- size given was small though we ordered medium BUT we were charged as if it's a medium/ large portion
Veggie -- too salty.
Fish -- even a simple dish like this got messed up -- it had the strangest flavouring ever for steam fish. Also, TOO salty. Seems to be the theme of this place.
Sotong -- This was decent. Thank goodness!
Crabs -- overfried. Thankfully the meat inside was fresh.
Note: some of the waitresses were rude to some of us. Very uncalled for - mana "service with a smile?"
The final bill came up to 1.5 times MORE than a nice Chinese restaurant in Subang BUT 100 times LESS in terms of quality and taste.
What was meant to be a joyous birthday celebration while reliving the good memories of this restaurant (it used to be good in the 90s and early 2000s) ended up to be a MEDIOCRE affair.
Mediocre is the kindest word to describe Port Village's food today.
The best thing on the menu was my mom's cheesecake which we had brought to the restaurant. Irony.
Will I ever go back there again? NO, not even if they gave...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Port Village, and it was nothing short of an exceptional seafood experience. Nestled right by the sea in Port Klang, this restaurant offers some of the freshest and most delectable seafood dishes I've ever had.
The restaurant's location is simply stunning, with tables overlooking the serene waters of Port Klang. The sound of gentle waves and the cool sea breeze create a perfect setting for a seafood feast. Whether you're here for a romantic dinner or a special celebration, the ambiance is unmatched.
Port Village lives up to its reputation as one of the best seafood restaurants in the area. The menu boasts a wide variety of seafood options, from succulent salted egg prawns to mouthwatering soy sauced garoupa. The freshness of the ingredients is evident in every bite. I highly recommend trying their signature sweet and sour crab with mantou buns, which is a true seafood lover's dream come true.
In summary, Port Village is undeniably one of the best seafood restaurants in Port Klang, if not the best. With its breathtaking seafront location, delicious seafood offerings, attentive service, and reasonable prices, it's a dining destination that should not be missed. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, Port Village is the...
Read moreWas a bit surprise for the taste. Too far below from my expectation. Few dishes that I ordered confirmed that they are not having the best chef. Kailan ikan masin was so so only. Shark fin soup (crab meat soup actually) was terrible. Never experience that bad taste. Even my 10 yrs old son didn't want to finish his soup. Seriously, taste weird.
The sweet sour fish also not that good. Was fried in saltless flour, giving me inbalance taste.
Fried squid with salted was also terrible. It didn't taste salted egg at all but in fact, got strong bad smell of that squid, could be rotten squid. Very dissapointed. And few others were all same. Tasted too far below.
Price also not that cheap compare to another nearby seafood restaurant which is more tasty, Bagan Seafood Restaurant. I prefer Bagan more than this even this one is more lively.
So I could only give 2 star. In fact, if I were to benchmark against my already low expectation, I should give only 1 star. But the staff managed to pull back one for a total 2 star from me (only).
Conclusion : Dissapointed and strongly...
