1# somebody made video telling this is hidden gem and only locals know but I saw big signboard from main road and majority customer here are not wearing tshirt short pants but wear nice nice. 2# some review said the food very nice and very fresh but I ordered 4 dishes only 1 nice. The signature dish coconut tomyam prawn small portion has 10 prawns of mixed size in it, half of them has the head almost detached (indicate freshness) and the was a failure as significant dish. Surely it’s special due to its creamy texture but other than that nothing good, the taste is not balance, it’s too “kaw” on saltiness but lack of tomyam aroma and the other sweet, sour, refreshing tastes needed in tomyam. Bitter gourd fried egg, can’t say it’s a failure but definitely can say it’s healthy because there wasn’t any seasoning in it, literally just the bitter gourd and egg, no other taste at all, not even garlic or salt taste. Kam heong razor clam, total failure, it taste bitter when biting the razor clam and when we told the staff she didn’t even take one to taste but thinking we never eat this dish, she was simply explaining “kam heong” style means a bit bitter. In fact the kam heong sauce was tasting normal and they even used sugar so it’s lightly sweet but the razor clam itself is the source of bitterness only when we bite on it (indication of freshness). My mum was a fishermen’s daughter we know how razor clams should taste and why it’s bitter. Finally, the fried bihun, this one taste good and can rate 4/5 only for this dish. 3# when I ran through google review noticed some people mentioned the same point about seeing others good review or video then come to try, so indeed it’s the influence of social media and it’s not fully trustworthy. And from the negative reviews, almost all are consistent on the reasons. Personally I feel it’s overrated. Price can be subjective, I don’t like it. Freshness is the key for seafood business and I don’t really see it here in reality, it’s only seen on surface display but not from the dishes...
Read moreMeal was good, the best part was the man tou and the coconut tomyam prawns. The tomyam+prawn dish wasn't very spicy, it was aromatic and fragant. The mantou was crunchy, slightly sweet and you can dip it with any sauce you want. We also ordered the marmite chicken (it wasn't that good in my opinion) and other dishes.
However, there were quite many flies around which irritates me but I understand. There were a few miscommunications within the servers, eg: When one of us asked for cold water, they gave us warm water. Parking was quite easy to find here as it was around 3:30p.m.
Would I go back? Yes but it's quite far from where I...
