We came here for a late dinner by Amir's invitation, as he was going to fly to Manila the next day. And since Daniel was home, we decided to meet them at the restaurant, which was closer to Amir's condo.
Unfortunately, Daniel didnt quite know the location of the restaurant, but since he was using Waze, I just simply followed his directions...until we got totally lost!!
But upon being directed by Amir, we eventually arrived, albeit having to drive steeply uphill to reach the destination. Amir, Etty and Eiden had arrived much earlier, and they had already secured a table in a private room. They had already place an order for a certain Dinner Set, but with Daniel being around we wisely decided to add more dishes to our orders.
But after waiting for about 30 minutes, I noticed that the private room next door was being served with their foods first. Now, I was very sure that we had arrived much earlier than that group. Plus, Amir had put in the orders even before we got there. Hence, I immediately marched to the Manager, only to find that they actually didnt prepare the earlier order...what a bummer!!
But, being a responsible manager, he took our order sheet to the kitchen to follow up personally...and within 5 minutes only...voila!!! Our foods were served at our table...Kudos to the Brilliant Manager!!!
This restaurant oozes the kampung vibes, with the traditional malay architecture and decor, and they actually serve authentic malay kampung food. It was more suitable for those who are looking for a longer stay to enjoy the kampung ambiance, but we were in a rush and couldnt fully appreciate the venue.
Hopefully, there would be a return...
Read moreThe place has its own reputation of being a spacious restaurent with a hilltop view. It’s definitely interesting but since most of it’s opening hour is during the night, you didnt get much of a view aside from the restaurent own’s decor. Not gonna lie, the place is quite unique with various type of seating areas (meja panjang, gazebo, pondok, rumah kampung and many more). It definitely nailed the “Kampung Vibe” that they were heading for.
The place accept booking so definitely do that before coming as the place can be quite packed during business hours.
So for the service, i truly feel that the restaurent need to improve on the availability of their waiters and on where to get assistance. A huge and spacious area is not an excuse for a customer to be left hanging PERIOD. Requesting for an extra plate of rice was so hard that i have to go “waiter hunting” myself. But still their waiter is polite and helpful when asked.
Now let’s talk bout the food. I ordered the Family Set for 4. Reading the menu itself made me drool but then when the food arrived honestly i was very dissappointed. The portion of each dish was so small it looks like they’re serving for 2 (refer pics). The only great thing bout it was that is tasted great. I’m at least thankful for that. So remember the next time you came here, you’re not only paying for the meal but also for the place haha.
Overall i dont think i would repeat but if they open during place during lunch, maybe ill go there...
Read moreI've visited this place twice so far. Knew about this place from Khairul Aming haha. My first visit, definitely was in awe with the environment. Very kampung style, like visiting someone's kenduri haha. It's quite spacious and have plenty of spaces to walk around, take pics and selfies. And the scenery is quite pretty if can catch the sunset. The food itself, it was actually quite tasty for me. Not super duper delicious but adequate and tasty enough to enjoy. No complaints from me so far. The ikan siakap sambal petai was nice. The daging salai masak lemak cili api was tasty too. Telur itik masak lemak is my fav, so I'm glad they have it as well. The otak2 was yummy as well. Their satay I was quite surprised that it was juicy as well. Their ketam lembut salted egg, that was delicious that I regretted not ordering one more haha. The sup ayam I was pleasantly surprised that it's the clear soup healthy type, not the oily type, with pieces of chicken. Basically ordered couple set with extra ala carte of different lauk. Drinks like orange juice or watermelon juice was fresh as well, not the cordial type. There's surau for guys and girls, so it's easy access for people who wants to pray. Toilet was clean as well. There's plenty of parking, just try to come early like 6:30 or 7pm if possible. Overall, the environment and the people were very friendly. I would definitely come again if want to bring a big group of friends or family....
