We visited on Deepavali public holiday... and were quite upset to discover that the tour was conducted only in Chinese! The whole website and comms via WhatsApp were in English, and no indication anywhere about the language of the tours.... the tour guide threw in a few English words for our sake but it wasn't enough to follow the flow. When we asked, the host explained that the Saturday tours are in Chinese and the Sunday tours are in English, with the extra days unconfirmed until they 'see the crowd'.
Bear in mind that the whole duration of the tour is conducted under direct sun, so it is very hot. They provide wide brimmed straw hats which is good. The first leg of the tour takes a huge portion of time, maybe 30 min in the same spot. The tour guide gives a long talk which I'm sure was rather interesting except we didn't understand a word. 5 minutes in, the smaller kids are crying and the only ones answering questions were a few enthusiastic aunties. By the 15 minute mark only the most resilient remained while the rest had retired to the shade. By the time it reached the highlight of the tour, the planting itself, everyone was pretty much wilted. To set expectation as well, the farm itself is a square, open patch of land that you can see everything at a glance.
There are a few animals to feed, the most entertaining of which is the goat. There is a trampoline and a giant snakes n ladders and hopscotch drawn onto the floor, with no dice or markers provided.
The steamboat lunch was filling and satisfying enough. It's vegetarian only, just in case you were expecting shabu shabu. The veges and mushrooms are nice, although sadly they are not sourced from the farm. At first the soup is bland (I guess that's healthy!) so we sneaked some soy sauce from the dim sum counter. I must say though that after a wilting experience in the sun, the last thing you feel like is a steamy hot pot. The fans, unfortunately, was blowing hot steam into my face the whole time. It is an open area with no air cond.
The tour price (RM49) comes with lunch and an oat drink which tasted nice.
TIPS OF THE DAY
Worst farm experience ever. 2 words for this place , Rip Off. If i could rate no star i would have done so. No bugs also , only worm and mosquito
Boring tour with no interactive for customers or kids.
Tour guide only spoke mandarin wt no regards for other race. There were a mixed bunch of us but were sidelined. He can speak other language when he wasn't on tour. Management should put big² statement la only mandarin tour then we won't waste our money and time here. Not worth paying.
Food in the package was hot pot wt our expectations for wholesome organic food but even that couldn't be executed correctly. For an organic farm they sure seem to like serving processed food. We were serve enoki , tofu , Chinese cabbage, tomato, and an egg to go with some tasteless broth. We paid rm20 (not including tour ) for food for something worth less then rm5. They did serve 4pcs of dim sum and 1 lo mai kai so that was nice. I will give them that.
With food so unappetising we decided to just packed the untouched food , and that’s where the icing on the cake happened. They charged us an extra rm1 per tapao for something we already paid. Wth this is just trying to hard to rip ppl off.
For a healthy organic place they seemed to have no regard for drinking water. We had to buy some premium mineral that was rm8 per btl . Thats another slaughter there.
What went well ? The cashier at the front was friendly My kids loved the trampoline and goat feeding ( that was all ) They gave a free drink that was tasty so we bought more . Keep it up We had ice-cream that was delicious. Keep it up.
Overall i wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. Everything mentioned that was well i can get elsewhere so conclusion, its a rip off place. Management please look into this. Owner...
Read moreOverall, a place with good concept for weekend activities. Price is fair for a tour including food and drinks. Relaxing dining atmosphere with a farm view. Kids can join art craft and animal petting.
However personally I have some comments on the farm: The tour is more to listening/briefing than sight-seeing and hands-on. The guide brought us to the backyard which is full of mosquitoes, super hot without any sunshade, and no crops there. And talk a lot for like 15 mins. This really turned off our interest and mood. A lot of plants in the farm, but very little crops. In fact the farm can be viewed in one glance. We only saw a few long beans and tiny cucumber. Maybe I am mislead by farm to table concept. Food served (vegetables) do not seem to come from this farm. Mostly brought in from BMS market I supposed, and they serve very typical ingredients like cabbage, lettuce, tomato, enoki in the steamboat (included in package). Other ingredients have to be add-on (like purple corn, pumpkin, sawi, etc). Nice drink and ice cream. The cakes and pizza looks good too (not included in farm tour meal).
Most likely a one-off visit...
