Part 1 As a frequent visitor to cats cafe, a few things. All of these are true from what I see.
There are unspoken rules to cats cafe for those first time visiting or never been to cats cafe. Environment - Smell nd noises. Many people know cats have higher sensory of smell and noises than human. When you go near a cats, it capture all the smell info from you with a sniff. Hence, please try not to wear any perfume deodorant etc. Sometime I smell cats in here smell so nice, I can guess some visitor already hug the cat while wearing perfume, this may cause cat all sort of health issue. Noises - cats can sleep in loud noises but too over, it can literally scared them to death. Once I saw parent just allowing their kids to chase the cat around and around, causing cats to bend in their tails, flip their ear back, this is typical cats overreact, unlike human when cats overreact, they DIE.
Food - over the cats cafe I've been to, most of them now collect an entrance fees of RM25-40+ PER ENTRANCE PER PERSON LIMITED TIME. but this establishment DID NOT, I think it speaks volume of the owner. Hence the human food there are slightly higher, ever so slightly my god and people are complaining. It's norm to spend before. Cats don't generally eat from your hand so ask bef take the food from the feeder and try to feed them. Some with love I saw bring their food to cats, but I hope they asked the owner is it OK to do that. Wrong food could lead to thousands of ringgit of sickness or even death while the customer just happily goes on with their life. I don't know if you do that with strays but these are home cats.
Cleanliness - if you ever raise cats, you will know either cats product that's so-called can clear cats smell are not proven scientifically, they can call it what they want but products like this are NOT regulated well enough. Animal welfare is still a path we should be perfected on. Hence brings me to my point, Cats has smell, this establishment is one of the cats cafe that smell the least because of cleanliness. They have hired a maid for cats, come on, peeps. Maid for cats. All day running aircond and airpurifier. Yes sometime they are pee in one spot, if you know cats well enough, you will know, they are probably scared or mating age. Cats are one of the few animal that bathed themselves. They hide their excretion because they worried of predator tracking them. Just inform the owner and they will defo happy to clean it. If you can train animal to excrete on command, I would train the pigeon outside my house to poo away from my car. These are animals, please have sense.
Cats - I've known the cats here on name basis now and the cats still cannot recognise me, it's NORMAL, I like cats because of their sassiness. Most bad reviews are either foods and feels like a first time visitor. If you speak with the owner you will know, it's about communication, they are cats lover and due to the overwhelmed cats that they save and raise, they needed a place to house all cats, honestly speaking, people even chase or torture cats while we are seeing a family not originate from Malaysia saving cats here. Could you spend a fortune to bet on uncertain future so that your cats live comfortably? Their cats mainly separate as a Maine Coon family, curled ears family, the legion of ragdoll mix(white ones) , and others. They 11 cats owner was the previous owner that already sell the business to the current owner. Current gangs of cats has friendly, a bit fisty, all kinds that might suit your cats kink, because they have so many, again, ask the owner which cat might fix your cats thirst. Most cats cafe that I went, no matter paying UP TO RM60+ per hour. Cats sleep 70% daily, and no fault to their nature, Cats annoyed easily lol. So most cats cafe I've been cats don't play with customer at all BUT cats here were raised by the owner to know human so they are more prone to interact with customer which is 'services' that I rarely experienced in other cats cafe.
Harshly speaking, THESE ARE NOT YOUR CATS, ask before hug,...
Read moreMy review was honest: the cat place smelled bad, the AC was off, and the staff were hostile. Prioritizing cats without proper ventilation may violate the Animal Welfare Act 2015; threatening legal action over genuine feedback could also breach the Consumer Protection Act 1999.
You allegedly said youâd sacrifice customer comfort for your cats, which speaks volumes for a restaurant owner. Iâm open to discussing this face-to-face, especially with Ramadan approaching. I never lied about being upset over four ordersâif I disagreed, I would have simply left. So, to defame me as being âpissedâ is, for lack of a better word, petulant.
If you truly want to address my concerns, inviting me back to clarify and improve matters would be more constructive. Iâve written many reviews; theyâre always honest. Demanding I remove this review and accusing me of lying are unwarranted. Iâm willing to update the review if these issues are resolved.
Finally, Iâm not sure how you perceive this, but to me itâs simply truth versus truth. If you believe my account is incorrect, please explainâor if you see merit in it, letâs acknowledge it and move forward. As Gandhi said, âHonest disagreement is often a good sign of progress.â Neither of us is the villain here; we can only resolve this by accepting responsibility and working together.
(Above is an additional comment as of 4th Feb 2025, as the owner updated comment.)
My recent visit to "Cats and You Cafe" was nothing short of a nightmare. Let me be brutally honest: this establishment fails on every front. The staff, particularly the older male employee at the counter, displayed shockingly rude and unwelcoming behavior. His condescending tone and dismissive attitude toward patronsâincluding myselfâwere unacceptable. When attempting to engage politely, we were met with impatience and hostility, which set the tone for the entire experience.
The catsâ area was disgusting. The overpowering stench of urine and neglect hit us immediately. The space was poorly maintained, with no effort to ensure basic hygiene or comfort for guests or animals. When questioned about the lack of air conditioning (which left the room stifling and unbearable), the staff claimed it was âto prevent the cats from getting sick.â This explanation defies logicâproper ventilation and climate control are fundamental for both animal welfare and customer comfort. Turning off the AC only amplified the revolting odors and created an oppressive environment.
To add insult to injury, as we left, the same staff member didnât bother with a simple goodbyeâinstead, he vanished, leaving us with the unmistakable impression that our presence was an inconvenience. This level of contempt toward patrons is inexcusable.
Do not waste your time or money here. The combination of vile conditions, neglectful animal care, and outright hostility from staff makes this cafe a disgrace. Unless the ownership issues a sincere public apology and demonstrates tangible changes, avoid this place at all costs.
Update and additional info:
I stand by my review as an honest account of my experience, protected under Consumer Protection Act (CPA), which safeguards consumersâ rights to voice legitimate grievances. As a Malaysian I consistently upheld that truthful statements and honest opinions based on firsthand experience are not defamatory.
Instead of threatening patrons, I urge the owner or their associates, to address the issues raised: improve hygiene, prioritize animal welfare, and train staff professionally. Should they proceed with legal action, I will vigorously defend my rights under and seek costs for frivolous litigation.
Hope...
Read moreThe cats are absolutely adorable, well behaved, friendly and very curious. They sat on my lap and let me pet them, really sweet. As they are cats, they sleep a lot and approach you if they want to. Some stayed on my lap and want constant petting and others came for occasional pets.
The staff are also really nice, friendly and answers enquiries quickly. Since I went an a weekday there were less people so I actually spent a considerable time there. The whole time both cats and staff were very nice and chill. Truly love the experience.
There are long haired cats and short haired cats.
