Dining at M6M (Minus Six Meters), the underwater restaurant at OZEN Life Maadhoo, is more than just a meal—it’s a meticulously curated sensory journey beneath the sea. From the moment you're seated, the floor-to-ceiling glass windows invite you into the world of coral reefs and marine creatures. Sharks, vibrant fish, and even curious stingrays drift by as you dine, creating a live, ever-changing aquatic show that elevates every bite.

The culinary experience is designed with theater in mind. The opening bread course already signals this intention: an artistic bread basket served on coral-textured ceramic, accompanied by whipped butters flecked with nuts and herbs, and small glass bottles of infused oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread is warm and diverse in style—olive rolls, rustic grain twists, and buttery laminated pastries—each rich with flavor and care.

Appetizers like the scallop, served with mango salsa and charcoal tuile, not only showcase balance and texture but are plated on organic, coral-shaped ceramic that mimics the sea bed. Another starter came on a dramatic pedestal dish with silky root vegetable purée and black olive dust, combining visual flair with earthy, smooth flavors.

Presentation becomes performance with a course that arrives on a block-shaped plate suspended between two vertical posts. Above the main plate, three garnishes—crisps, rings, and tuile—are clipped to a line like culinary ornaments, allowing guests to pick and assemble textures as they go. Served with a fresh citrus mocktail and white wine, this dish offered a perfect harmony of playfulness and refinement.

The main course of beef filet was a standout—expertly cooked, tender, and juicy, served with sculpted mashed potatoes and a medley of seasonal vegetables. The jus was poured tableside, adding a rich depth that brought everything together. It’s a classic combination reimagined with elegance and restraint.

Desserts at M6M deserve special mention. One showpiece was a meringue dome, torched to golden perfection and paired with bursts of berry compote, fruit gel, and cookie crumble. It arrived alongside a thoughtful array of after-dinner beverages: cappuccino, TWG tea in a glass teapot, a digestif, and even a biscuit paired with Bonne Maman honey—every element speaking of intention and quality.

Throughout the meal, the drink service was exceptional. Lemon-mint coolers, crisp white and rosé wines, espresso, and herbal tea were all served in curated glassware and presented with elegance. Every glass and teacup contributed to the multi-sensory experience.

Of course, the true magic of M6M lies in its setting. The underwater environment is calming and fascinating—enhanced by soft lighting, hushed acoustics, and the ever-present marine ballet. Watching a shark glide past while sipping a glass of rosé, or seeing a child’s eyes widen as fish swim by, adds emotional resonance to the meal.

In essence, M6M is not just a restaurant—it is a curated underwater world where gastronomy, design, and nature unite. Every plate is a story. Every course is a conversation between art and the sea. It's a place where food memory is created not just through flavor, but through atmosphere and awe. Dining here isn’t just recommended—it’s...

My husband took me here for a surprise lunch on our last day in Maldives during our honeymoon and it was amazing experience for both of us!

Staffs took great care of us since we first arrived by boat, gave us champagne on arrival, took us to bar before the restaurant was ready at 12PM, took the buggy to the restaurant, had cheese platter, went to the underwater restaurant (which I didn't expect), and had an amazing 5-course lunch while watching the fish swam around us!

Each one of us were allowed to have different set of course so we picked different one, we could try each other's meal. Each meal was prepared carefully using local seafood produce and imported ingredients. Finished off with hazelnut and chocolate cake in chocolate sphere, that melts when the server poured warm melted chocolate sauce on it! Had the sorbet for dessert and it was very refreshing after the meal.

After the meal, we were informed that our boat will arrive at 7.45PM, but we could use the resort facility such as snorkeling gear, pool, towel, shower and changing room with toiletries. Went snorkeling and relaxed by the pool to watch sunset before strolling around the beach and went back to the lobby to wait for our boat.

Highly recommended for everyone to try once you are...

A pretty stunning experience. A five course seafood meal with wine pairing, all under the ocean. It's set up with a bunch of intimate, outward facing booths for couples so everyone is facing a window to the ocean. The fish were fascinating to watch, but it didn't detract from the fantastic food. We had a choice of two menus, with a main course of either sea bass or lobster tail. Lobster usually wins out, though I wish one of us tried the other menu just to see greater variety. Presentation was 10/10, and the white wines all paired wonderfully. The lobster was cooked a little more than we generally prefer (it seems to be a common theme here; maybe the more frequent European and Asian guests prefer it that way?), but the food and service were still fantastic overall. Desert wine and dessert cocktails with dessert as well...we didn't go home...
