I recently dined at The SEA restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was far from enjoyable. We were a family of four and ordered the set menu at the restaurant. Expecting something unique and flavorful, but what arrived was a lackluster plate that seemed to have been hastily thrown together.
The starter was their Roasted Draniki. To say the least it lacked falvour in every aspect. The only thing good about this dish was the bed of potato pancake. The Pumpkin and Asparagus soup was the second course. It stated they would have pieces of crab and prawns in it. However, I found two small pieces of prawns cut into two along with one piece of crab that I am pretty confident was imitation crab.
The third course was Ptitim Pasta. This was a pasta dish that was excessively dry. I do like my pasta with some extra sauce however this this had close to no flavour of any sort. It came with scallops that were cold for a warm dish and the thinnest piece of lobster you could ever get. In honesty the small piece of lobster that was served was probably the highlight of my experience there.
Next course was the Australian Wagyu Striploin. Probably the worst dish of the evening. Three bite size pieces of steak on toasts. I mean it lacked imagination, flavour and everything you would expect from a restaurant of that reputation. The server did ask me how I would like my steak and I stated I would like it medium as long as there is no blood flowing out and he suggested to go for medium to well done to which I agreed. However, it was super well done and very very dry. Not at all tender.
Lastly, the dessert was a Mango Crème Brule which was not bad and a decent desert. However, caviar on the dessert did not go well with the dish in my opinion.
Each of the above items came with caviar. Adding caviar to justify the price and have not actual flavour to the food made it seem like a waste.
To make matters worse, the prices were shockingly high for the quality of food served. For a meal that felt like it belonged in a diner chain, the bill left us questioning our choices. It was hard to shake the feeling that we had paid a premium for subpar fare.
Service was another letdown. While our server was polite, they did not seem very friendly and knowledgeable. And their uniforms seemed very unkept.
Overall, I left The SEA restaurant feeling disappointed and regretting my decision to dine there. I would have not been so critical of the experience if the price justified the entire experience but it most...

The restaurant is, without a doubt, the most unforgettable dining experience I’ve had in the Maldives. Nowhere else can you immerse yourself so completely in the vibrant marine life—it’s as if the ocean becomes part of you.
Within just a couple of hours, we witnessed an incredible variety of sea life—all kinds of fish, turtles, stingrays gliding past, and even sharks.
The food? Absolutely excellent. Every dish was crafted with care, and they accommodated our preferences—you just need to ask. The attentiveness of the team was incredible; you truly feel so much care and attention, making the entire experience not just about the view or the food, but about world-class dining.
Having visited three underwater restaurants before, I can confidently say that SEA is in a...
Read moreWent for dinner and had a great time. The presentation among arrival with a walk downstairs to get to the underwater restaurant is nice. It is a fixed price multi course meal and a small space so you get good views the whole time. Our dishes included a lobster option, sea bass, and waygu beef. The dessert was a chocolate dish that they pour hot chocolate over to open it. Pictures of the items are attached. While it is pricey as you would image, it was a great...
