We visited this restaurant as a group of four. The food was decent, and the atmosphere very pleasant. The service, however, felt a bit chaotic at times — but in the end, everything was handled professionally and to our full satisfaction. Overall, I can recommend this restaurant.

For transparency, here are a few details for those who care:

One drink from our original order was forgotten and only brought after we asked about it.

A few drinks meant for another table was mistakenly served to us.

The cocktails were disappointing (a Mai Tai made with Campari, which simply doesn’t belong in a real Mai Tai. Worst Mai Tai in my life and an Aperol Spritz that didn’t taste right).

My glass for the coke was taken away, and when I ordered another coke, I wasn’t given a new glass — I ended up using my water glass instead.

The biggest issue, though, was the discrepancy between the drink menu and the actual bottle size. The menu listed 30cl (300ml), but the bottle served was only 250ml. Most likely, the menu hasn’t been updated for a while — but with this you end up paying for 300ml but getting 250ml, which adds up quickly over several drinks.

When I gave this feedback to the staff while paying, I mentioned that I wasn’t happy with the chaotic service, the poor cocktail quality, and the issue with the drink sizes.

The staff responded extremely professionally — they took the feedback seriously, offered a complimentary coffee for everyone at the table, and removed all cocktail and soft drink charges (around €45 in total) from the bill. That was a fair and much appreciated gesture, and we left satisfied with the resolution.

My suggestion to the restaurant would be to update the drink menu to reflect the correct sizes and to assign specific waiters to certain areas or tables, as being served by at least 4-5 different staff members also contributed to the slightly disorganized impression on...

Very bad experience at this restaurant. Very.

My friends and are staying nearby and wanted to try Blue Elephant since I'm a vegetarian, and there aren't many places that seem too vegetarian friendly in Malta.

We arrived earlier this evening, about 8 pm on a Wednesday. The place was empty, but we were asked to sit at the bar and wait for few minutes. No worries, we were all super excited and willing to wait a bit. But well over forty five minutes later, and after seeing other groups that arrived after us get seated I asked the front desk person.

Without apologizing or using the word "sorry" once, the hostess told us that they did in fact have a table for us. I asked why other groups had been seated, and how much longer they would have had us wait if I hadn't asked, and was brushed off. The hostess was quite impolite, and our group decided to go elsewhere. On the way out I asked to speak to the Hilton Hotel manager and was again asked to wait. After another 10 minutes, we left a number and asked to be called that evening to discuss our poor experience. I've yet to hear from anyone, and it's been a few hours since we left.

I'm not sure exactly why we received poor service. However, other members of our group and I all felt that the attitude of everyone we spoke to was...

What a surprise to find such a good Thai return at in Malta. We were staying in the Hilton and heard how good it was so decided to try it. As a wheelchair user, it was great that there was a lift down to the restaurant and that the staff were super helpful. Our table was going to be a 15 minutes and so they sat us in the bar and gave us a free round of drinks. We sat outside and they took a while to take our order but were lovely when they did. It was very busy. Make orders the Golden Set Menu for 4 and it was amazing. The Prawn crackers came out and were stale but they replaced them quickly when they realised and they were lovely. From the starters of satay chicken and dim sum to the beef curry and fish. The fish cakes had a weird texture but the dim sum were the best. The fried rice and pad Thai were irresistible. The waiter was very helpful with giving us wine recommendations, he had great knowledge and the cocktails were different that anything I have seen before but were nice too. Would definitely come back and fully recommend the set menu for sharing. The best hotel restaurant I have been too.

Was all going very well until just after main course.. we finished main course and were left waiting for quite some time before we had to call over staff to request dessert..managed to get someones attention finally, ordered dessert with two drinks.. dessert came but no drinks.. again had to wait for this to be cleared.. managed to get someones attention and cancelled drinks and requested the bill and informed them we wanted to pay by card so as to bring over epos with the bill(was fed up by this point and wanted to go), bill arrived no epos. Mistake on bill so we had to wait again for this to be sorted. Then again had to wait for epos machine. Had to request fiscal receipt, waited again until we went to till ourselves to get this to be able to leave.. not impressed with the last hour at all.Aside from that it started very well and food was good. Still we don't expect these things to happen at a place like this, especially considering that you are paying quite well for this place.. does no one have any pride in offering proper service etc??
