Hugo's Lounge — Restaurant in Saint Julian's

Food was so fresh and delicious and the portions were huge so i would take this into consideration when ordering. We got the sushi platter (pictured) and the prawn soup and prawn pad thai which i forgot to take pictures of. Everything was delicious! We ordered a small soup and i thought i was mistakenly given a large and was unable to finish it as there was so much. Also couldn’t finish the pad thai and the waiter kindly packed this up for us and i think they may have added some extra prawns because when i ate it later on there was definitely more prawns than i remember. Service was spot on. If you are planning to go later on in the evening i would consider booking a table, i went at opening time so didn’t have an issue but the waiter did inform us that that the tables were booked from 8pm onwards (we went at 6 so we were done before the reservations). Also ordered 2 non alcoholic cocktails which were decent. Some alcoholic cocktails were 2 for 1 so if you drink this is a great deal, was a little disappointed the non alcoholic drinks were not 2 for 1. Total bill for 2 came to around 70 euros so a but on the pricey side however when you consider how fresh the sushi is i can understand why it is this much. I ordered yesterday 72 euros of sushi to be delivered, I did many times in the past with never a single issue however yesterday the salmon only was off, making a dreadful smell and contaminating all the rest of the sushi being in the same box and dealing with raw fish I throw it all away. I called them straightaway and a lady on the phone told me plenty of apologies without checking my order or asking if i was going to take anything else instead. I made the order through Malta Menu and I spoke with them today which HUGO's staff told them that I refused the exchange of the order and still they would offer me 20% discount on next order. So just to be clear, my employer credit monthly my balance on my account for food allowances, so it didn't cost me nothing at all, I work for a renominated gaming company on a Senior level and stand on Hugo's staff, I lied on this. Why I would do so if I even didn't pay for it?

Absolutely phenomenal experience! This fusion restaurant is a true gem for lovers of Asian cuisine and sushi. Every dish was a delightful journey of flavors — beautifully presented, incredibly fresh, and masterfully balanced. The sushi, in particular, was some of the best I've ever had — creative, elegant, and bursting with taste.

What truly sets this place apart, though, is the outstanding service. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and attentively cared for throughout the evening. The staff is not only professional and friendly, but also genuinely passionate about the food they serve.
