There was also a pasta - tomato based ragunwoth cream - I would have preferred it sans cream for the full tomato flavour but that's just my preference. We were a table of six and although there were several other big tables, the service was efficient and the waiters attended to our requests with a smile. The food was cooked to perfection - we ordered calamari and octopus for starters, then for the main course we had their famous beef tagliata (1kg to share), and ended the night with a sweet taste of their freshly prepared imqaret and mini doughnuts. Read moreDue to a mess-up with our hotel we were allowed to eat for free at the Il Pirata for dinner. At first we were apprehensive that the menu was going to be limited or the food quality bad, but we were gladly mistaken.
Il Pirata was an excellent restaurant, the manager/owner was there every night to talk with the customers and lend a hand when needed, the staff were friendly, the environment good and most importantly the food was excellent.
