It took me way long to take the decision of if ever I post this review or not, to be honest I didn't say my words on spot at the restaurant cause I had my wife and kids with me avoiding any conflict, if I was alone things would have taken other shape. We came to this restaurant recommend by a Maltese clirck at the Corinthia resort, by arriving we got attended by the owner and served by an Sicilian guy that had a bad mouth smell and a rude behavior, (I must say I run food and beverage businesses in Barcelona and non of my holdings charges tips and fools clients). We ordered for drinks two soft drinks (orange fanta, Ice tea and one of the came already served in the glass and the other came in bottle this means that what we ordered was tricked. By ordering the food it was the following, Maltese rabit maybe cooked in the era of Johan de la Valletta, a seabass fish that was not clean from inside, caponata that had nothing with a caponata and for the Sicilian guy this should be shaimfull as for the spaghetti Al pólipo we had it served with squid and olives (I figured out later that they usually screw clients with this dish and then say it was a confusion) All those dishes where bad and I can confirm that we had a bad night and next morning we all had diarrhea. I thank the clirck at the hotel, as well the owner for his comprehension and the waiter for his higiene 🪥. Fooling people is not a job neither a way to make money. Here you...
Read moreLa Maltija in St. Julian's offers a delightful culinary experience with its focus on traditional Maltese cuisine. We had the pleasure of trying two signature dishes – the rabbit spaghetti and rabbit specialty of the house.
The rabbit spaghetti was a true highlight, showcasing the chef's expertise in blending flavors. The tender rabbit meat was expertly cooked and paired wonderfully with the perfectly al dente spaghetti. The sauce was rich and savory, bringing out the essence of Maltese culinary traditions.
The rabbit stew, another local favorite, did not disappoint. The meat was succulent and fell off the bone, immersed in a flavorful stew that had been simmered to perfection. The combination of herbs and spices added a depth of taste that made this dish a true embodiment of Maltese comfort food.
The ambiance at La Maltija was warm and inviting, complementing the rustic charm of the dishes. The service was attentive, adding to the overall positive dining experience. The portions were generous, and the presentation reflected a commitment to both taste and aesthetics.
Overall, La Maltija is a must-visit for those seeking an authentic taste of Maltese cuisine. The rabbit dishes we tried were exceptional, and the restaurant's dedication to preserving culinary traditions is evident in every bite. We left with satisfied palates and a newfound appreciation for the...
Read moreGorgeus.😍 If you're visiting Malta, this amazing restaurant is a must. The food was exceptional — we had pasta with lobster, tender filet of beef in mushroom sauce, crispy rabbit croquettes, and focaccia with fresh tuna. Every bite was full of flavor and beautifully prepared.🤤
The service made the night even better. George and Ester, our waiters, were incredibly professional and gave us excellent recommendations that made the whole meal feel special. And JoJo, the barman, surprised us with a unique cocktail I’ve never tried before — it was absolutely delicious!🥳
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, surrounded by local art. We were lucky to attend a live painting demonstration by a talented female Maltese artist, whose beautiful sea-inspired works decorated the space.🔥🎨
There’s also a peaceful green terrace tucked away — perfect for a relaxing drink or meal.🎋✨️
Come for the food, stay for the vibe — this place is truly...
