The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a great location in Portomaso Marina, and the owner was very friendly. Unfortunately, our dining experience was disappointing.
After ordering, we asked for bread. In Malta, it is standard that restaurants bring bread once you order food, but here we were told it costs extra. That was shocking, especially considering bread costs the restaurant almost nothing. Still, we were willing to pay for it — yet despite asking three times, the bread never arrived.
The salmon dish was also extremely salty, which added to the disappointment. One waiter eventually apologized when he realized, but the mistake had already affected the meal.

Read moreFood - sadly food prepared for advertising videos and what normal customer gets is not the same. Food was okay, nothing special or to go 2nd time for as everything was quote bland, cucumbers tasted like wet nothing. Quite disappointing for place which is presenting itself as catering for high-end customers. Food in pic is their Turkish breakfast serving 2 people (for 40 euro), we ordered extra portion of eggs (6 euro).
Staff - majority of staff obviously has no training, has no basic serving manners (taking away plates with food still on it without asking etc.). Male waiter took our order and 2 minutes later female waiter came to confirm our order. One female waiter looks really miserable and hating her job. Only the latin American girl was friendly, helpful and with customer and serving skills.
Atmosphere - nice marina view,...

As locals, we support restaurants even in winter when there are fewer tourists, but it’s hard to return when such a simple request is ignored. A restaurant in such a prime location should care more...
