Absolutely Fantastic Dining Experience at Paranga, Intercontinental Malta!

My recent visit to Paranga was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the stunning view and inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. The restaurant’s ambiance is truly mesmerizing, with a beautiful setting overlooking the Maltese coastline — a picture-perfect backdrop for any occasion.

We started with a selection of fresh seafood: the prawns, scallops, and mussels were all absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. For the main course, we opted for the grilled octopus, which was tender, smoky, and expertly prepared. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a lovely glass of Pinot Grigio that paired beautifully with the seafood.

The service was friendly and attentive, though at times it felt like the team was a bit stretched, possibly due to being under-staffed. Nonetheless, our experience was still highly positive, and the staff did their best to ensure we were well taken care of.

Overall, Paranga offers an incredible dining experience with fantastic food, breathtaking views, and a lovely atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Malta looking for top-quality seafood and a memorable setting. We’ll definitely...

Anticipated a great visit to this restaurant but expectations weren’t met. We were sat at our table but it had taken 15 minutes to get our order in - during which time we had seen tables who had arrived after us get served first, and food go to wrong tables only to be taken to the right table after being touched by the first, then returned to the kitchen. When our order was taken we told our waitress that there was a dairy allergy - she seemed very confused by this, offering to bring Gluten Free bread instead of the normal bread… Our starters took 20 minutes to arrive and these were very underwhelming in terms of presentation and taste. Our mains then took another 40 minutes to arrive which again were extremely underwhelming. The fish had no taste, not even any seasoning, the potato sides were undercooked and the grilled veg were soggy. Service was terrible - the manager looked like he had been on a 3 day bender in the same suit he showed up to work in. The team had no direction and it was clear that everyone was working the floor rather than their own sections. Tables were were attempting to get the attention of anyone which didn’t work. Unfortunately I won’t be going back or recommending. Intercontinental should take a closer look...

Oh my gosh, I don't even know where to start!

First of all, a huge thank you to the manager (I’m so sorry I didn’t catch your name!) — you were absolutely excellent. I arrived a little early for lunch, feeling quite hungry, and you were kind enough to offer me a drink while keeping me informed about when the restaurant would open and what food options were available.

I also want to sincerely thank *Nicholas and Dimitri—(apologies for spelling names wrong) both of you were so lovely, welcoming, and attentive. You really made me feel comfortable and cared for.

A massive shoutout as well to Tessa — she went above and beyond! Not only did she make me feel incredibly welcome, but she also explained the menu in detail, gave me insight into what to expect , and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.

This is my first time in Malta, and thanks to the kindness and hospitality I received at this restaurant (along with where I'm staying), my holiday has started off amazingly well. I honestly can’t wait to spend the next seven days exploring more — and I’m really looking forward to coming back to this lovely place.
