Beachaven — Restaurant in Saint Paul's Bay

My family and I were advised to try out this restaurant from a family friend, unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience for us. The place was practically empty when we had ordered so I don't understand why it took an hour and 20mins for the food to arrive. We had complained about 3 times because it took so incredibly long. When we finally got our food it was extremely over cooked and had absolutely no flavor what so ever. I was given 8 tiny pieces of hard and rubbery calamari which costed 11.50 euros!!! The seafood platter was also very overly done and the pizza was as plain as can be. The food looked and tasted very unappetizing. We barely touched our food even although we were tremendously hungry. It is such a pity that the food wasn't even edible because the restaurant is situated in a such a nice place by the sea and stuff are also very friendly. My family and I are never usually picky eaters but there was no way that we could have finished that off. This place feels incredibly private, considering it is located next to a pretty busy road. However, as it is at sea level, you really don't notice. It is definitely not accessible if you have mobility issues, but that's the only negative. There is a lovely deck. You can swim safely in the bay around the boats and the view is very pretty looking over the limits of St Paul's Bay. The food is reasonably priced for a beach club and certainly plentiful. Service is good for Malta. We were there at Sunday lunchtime, and they were busy, but drinks came quickly, and the waiting staff were attentive. It's a great place to have a relaxing day and I would go back. Not as hectic as many of its competitors, and although parking is a challenge, we were lucky and found a spot right by the entrance. The ambiance at this restaurant was truly beautiful — calming and elegant, with incredible views, especially at night overlooking the surroundings. It’s the kind of setting you want to relax in for hours.

Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the setting. The pasta was undercooked, lacked seasoning and flavor, and the menu overall was quite limited. Disappointingly, the staff didn’t check in with us, which made the experience feel a bit disconnected.
