As someone who has had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant on multiple occasions, I can confidently say that it is an absolute gem! From the first bite of their pasta, you can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients used. Every pasta dish is cooked to perfection, with the pasta always al dente and bursting with flavor. About the gnocchi. Oh my, it's the epitome of perfection! Soft and warm, it melts in your mouth with every bite. I can't get enough of it! Now, onto the pizza. The pizza bread is not just good, it's fantastic! The perfect consistency of their pizza is something that you won't find anywhere else. The crust is crispy yet chewy, and the toppings are always fresh and generously portioned. It's truly a pizza lover's dream come true! While the chicken wasn't my favorite dish, I have to say that it was still cooked perfectly. It just needed a bit more flavor, perhaps a marinade would have done the trick. It was a bit dry, but that can be smoothed over with a great Caesar salad, which was just as excellent as the rest of the dishes. Now, let's talk about the buffalo mozzarella. It's so good that I could eat it on its own! And when paired with the delicious prosciutto, it's a match made in heaven. The prosciutto is of the highest quality, thinly sliced and perfectly cured. It's a true testament to the attention to detail that goes into every dish at this restaurant. And finally, the caprese salad. It's hands down the best I've ever had! The tomatoes were so fresh and juicy, and the mozzarella was the perfect complement. It's a dish that I could eat every day and never get tired of. The ribeye on the bone at La Buona Trattoria Del Nonno is absolutely delicious! It's cooked to perfection, with a perfectly seared exterior and juicy, tender meat inside. The crispy fries that accompany it are equally outstanding. They're perfectly cooked with a crisp exterior and fluffy interior, and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. I have to say that the service at La Buona Trattoria Del Nonno is absolutely exceptional! The staff is warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a smile and a genuine interest in making sure that you have the best possible experience. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and offer excellent recommendations based on your tastes and preferences. They are always available to answer any questions you may have about the dishes, the ingredients, or the cooking methods. What sets La Buona Trattoria Del Nonno apart, however, is their attention to detail when it comes to service. The servers make sure that your table is always clean and well-stocked with utensils, napkins, and condiments. They're always checking in to see if you need anything and are quick to fulfill any requests. But it's not just the servers that make the service exceptional - it's the entire experience. From the ambiance to the pace of the meal, everything is perfectly executed. The restaurant has a cozy and intimate feel, with just the right amount of lighting and music to create a relaxing atmosphere. The pace of the meal is also spot-on. You're never rushed, but you're also never waiting too long for your food. The servers make sure that your dishes come out in a timely manner and that everything is cooked to perfection. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. And, extra thank you to Nemanja for the great and fun service!

The marketing on social media is very powerful and visual and entices you to visit , giving the impression that you are in for a fully fledged menu in a striking ambience. On the contrary upon seating you are dished out with a simple piece of A4 paper with a very limited choice of dishes. One would think that this would be counteracted by being offered a good selection of specials but to our surprise , the server stopped after explaining 2 simple dishes -one salmon pasta and one meat special and that was it! The place was flooded with tables which were mostly full and that's when we understood why the menu is so limited - to cope with the huge volumes from a relatively small sized kitchen spread over 2 or 3 locations. The service was quite impersonal and sometimes pushy to upsell etc - as you would expect from this style of restaurant. Prices are not on the cheap side however. Overall , the food is reasonable, service reasonable , prices on the high side though portions are not too small, variety very low , ambience very noisy and high volume . If this is your style of place then it might be enjoyed but for the price you pay there are plenty of better restaurants offering superior value for money and concepts around .

Simply a wonderful family owned restaurant. I saw the restaurant in UK tv and decided to visit. From walking inside I was made to feel welcome and a special guest. I had not booked but I was found a table and seated. Service was gently efficient, attentive but unobtrusive. Food wise the arancini royale, dish of the day (rib eye steak for 2) and seasonal vegetables was perfect. I asked for the profiteroles but could not decide on white or milk chocolate…. The surprised me by giving me a mix. The wine selection was the best I have seen in the island - I chose the Bolghieri super Tuscan red wine (a recommendation from a sommelier who know his job) Family members were in attendance, Nonno walked around treating guests, his grandson was serving tables making everyone feel special. Had good conversations with several staff members all were positive and the cocktail head barman made me 2 amazing cocktails… tell him what you like and stand back or just let him work and be amazed at the stylish and tasty drinks made. I can think of nothing negative

You need to come to La Buona Trattoria del Nonno. I mean, right now, as soon as possible! Not only was this the best meal I had in Malta, but this may just be the best pasta I’ve ever had. In my life. We started with their Chef Special’Tuna Turner’ which not only melted in our mouths, but was absolutely delicious. I still dream about it. For pastas we ordered the ‘Trofie Al Pesto’ and ‘Spaghetti Carbonara.’ Both dishes were incredibly fresh and full of flavour. You haven't really lived until you've tasted their traditional, tasty versions of the classics! For dessert there was no denying their incredible Tiramisu and Pistachio Cake. Yum! But I must say the amazing staff here really made the night one to remember! Milan was absolutely incredible and really went above and beyond! So thank you! This family restaurant is everything you’d want and more in an evening out in St. Paul’s Bay! I would come here again in a heartbeat!

Possibly like a few brits, we saw this restaurant on channel 5 recently. And literally planned our trip to Malta around the place and we were not disappointed with Trattoria del Nonno. Booked a table as soon as we arrived in resort (online). Public transport is fantastic btw. So we had a starter to share breaded cheese 👍my wife had the half rack of ribs and I had the pasta with pistachios and lardons, both of which were delicious and of course a bottle of local white wine recommended by a very knowledgeable young man who took the time to talk to us about the local wine producers. We ended the meal with a delicious cheesecake dessert. A special mention has to go to the young woman who explained everything about the menu her knowledge about the food and ingredients were second to none. A definite 5 star restaurant. Almost forgot about the cocktail to end the evening’s experience, best ever cocktail according to my wife.

La Buona Trattoria Del Nonno is a delightful family-owned Italian restaurant. The authentic atmosphere, coupled with a welcoming staff, creates a dining experience reminiscent of a true Italian home. The menu features a variety of delicious, freshly prepared dishes that showcase the rich flavors of Italy. The dedication to quality and tradition is evident in every bite. Whether you're craving classic pasta, savory meats (chiefs recommendation is Ribs), or delectable desserts, this Trattoria offers a genuine taste of Italy that shouldn't be missed. We had some amazing starter with scamorza al forno with rosti, fig & walnut praline and a honey & lemon dressing up by Gnocchi della casa filled with ricotta and served with truffle cream. My bf had the Kanes Paccheri with a lovely pistachio pesto crunchy guanciale and pecorino. Highly recommended for a holiday meal which you’ll not forget about 😊
