As someone who has had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant on multiple occasions, I can confidently say that it is an absolute gem! From the first bite of their pasta, you can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients used. Every pasta dish is cooked to perfection, with the pasta always al dente and bursting with flavor.
About the gnocchi. Oh my, it's the epitome of perfection! Soft and warm, it melts in your mouth with every bite. I can't get enough of it!
Now, onto the pizza. The pizza bread is not just good, it's fantastic! The perfect consistency of their pizza is something that you won't find anywhere else. The crust is crispy yet chewy, and the toppings are always fresh and generously portioned. It's truly a pizza lover's dream come true!
While the chicken wasn't my favorite dish, I have to say that it was still cooked perfectly. It just needed a bit more flavor, perhaps a marinade would have done the trick. It was a bit dry, but that can be smoothed over with a great Caesar salad, which was just as excellent as the rest of the dishes.
Now, let's talk about the buffalo mozzarella. It's so good that I could eat it on its own! And when paired with the delicious prosciutto, it's a match made in heaven. The prosciutto is of the highest quality, thinly sliced and perfectly cured. It's a true testament to the attention to detail that goes into every dish at this restaurant.
And finally, the caprese salad. It's hands down the best I've ever had! The tomatoes were so fresh and juicy, and the mozzarella was the perfect complement. It's a dish that I could eat every day and never get tired of.
The ribeye on the bone at La Buona Trattoria Del Nonno is absolutely delicious! It's cooked to perfection, with a perfectly seared exterior and juicy, tender meat inside. The crispy fries that accompany it are equally outstanding. They're perfectly cooked with a crisp exterior and fluffy interior, and seasoned with just the right amount of salt.
I have to say that the service at La Buona Trattoria Del Nonno is absolutely exceptional! The staff is warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a smile and a genuine interest in making sure that you have the best possible experience.
The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and offer excellent recommendations based on your tastes and preferences. They are always available to answer any questions you may have about the dishes, the ingredients, or the cooking methods.
What sets La Buona Trattoria Del Nonno apart, however, is their attention to detail when it comes to service. The servers make sure that your table is always clean and well-stocked with utensils, napkins, and condiments. They're always checking in to see if you need anything and are quick to fulfill any requests.
But it's not just the servers that make the service exceptional - it's the entire experience. From the ambiance to the pace of the meal, everything is perfectly executed. The restaurant has a cozy and intimate feel, with just the right amount of lighting and music to create a relaxing atmosphere.
The pace of the meal is also spot-on. You're never rushed, but you're also never waiting too long for your food. The servers make sure that your dishes come out in a timely manner and that everything is cooked to perfection.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. And, extra thank you to Nemanja for the great and...
Read moreService is excellent but the high asking price simply does not justify what is being served. Most mains are over 30 Euro, and all that is included are potatoes. In most restaurants in Malta, mains are usually below 30 euro and both potatoes and veg would be offered. Most people mentioned 25-30 Euro per person; this is simply not true, given that most mains (pizzas and pastas apart) are already beyond the 30Euro price range. If you include drinks and perhaps a coffee you are more likely looking at a 35-40 range per head, if not more.
Meat cuts were rather fatty. I do understand that a veal chop is supposed to have some fat, but having both my father and my wife discard half of it because it was too fatty is not justifiable. Given that the meat portion was also rather small (we are talking of 31 Euro per portion of meat here) we were given an extra portion free of charge without being asked - this does merit mentioning, because I would struggle to come up with any other establishment that would do that without some serious complaining. This was the saving grace that tipped my rating to 4, otherwise it would have been a 3 at the very most.
Pizzas vary between 12-20 euro, dough is more akin to that of a focaccia rather than the thin and light Napoletan style base.
As stated earlier the service is really good, and most of the shortcomings I mentioned could be perhaps overlooked if the prices asked weren't so high. I have paid such prices at other establishments, but then the meat quality delivered was...
Read moreThe marketing on social media is very powerful and visual and entices you to visit , giving the impression that you are in for a fully fledged menu in a striking ambience. On the contrary upon seating you are dished out with a simple piece of A4 paper with a very limited choice of dishes. One would think that this would be counteracted by being offered a good selection of specials but to our surprise , the server stopped after explaining 2 simple dishes -one salmon pasta and one meat special and that was it! The place was flooded with tables which were mostly full and that's when we understood why the menu is so limited - to cope with the huge volumes from a relatively small sized kitchen spread over 2 or 3 locations. The service was quite impersonal and sometimes pushy to upsell etc - as you would expect from this style of restaurant. Prices are not on the cheap side however. Overall , the food is reasonable, service reasonable , prices on the high side though portions are not too small, variety very low , ambience very noisy and high volume . If this is your style of place then it might be enjoyed but for the price you pay there are plenty of better restaurants offering superior value for money and ...
