Salt Water — Restaurant in Saint Paul's Bay

The quality of the food - and the service - is extremely dependent on who is working and how motivated they are. We were there for the first time for an afternoon snack (babuxka, appetizer for 2 people). We were both really impressed, it tasted incredibly good. We decided to come back again for dinner. Again, we were really impressed. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the food, this day would definitely have warranted a 5 star rating. The next day we came back for an afternoon snack. We wanted the same as the day before - because we were really excited about it. Unfortunately, the service and waiting time was really disappointing that day. When the food finally arrived (mind you, there was only one other table there at the time) we thought it was something else. We got a completely different dish than the day before. In the end it was just pizza stuff without sauce with a bit of rocket and tomatoes. Without the sesame crust, without salted butter. It wasn't bad or inedible, but in the end it just tasted like nothing. Very monotonous, without any spices. A great pity, as we knew what it should have tasted like. When we didn't see the waiter for a very long time after the meal, we went inside to pay, even inside at the counter we had to wait about 15 minutes until the waiter appeared and we could pay. We purchased a day-by-the-pool deal through deal.com.mt and were really disappointed. After settling down, my daughter immediately noticed the pool was dirty, and upon checking it myself, I saw it too. The entire pool was covered in what looked like algae, likely from the water overflow. It was clear the water pump filtering system wasn’t working properly, as the water was very cloudy and not clear at all. The pool’s condition felt unhygienic, and we didn’t want to risk any infections, so we left. I requested for my money back and was given the refund. Another couple we spoke with had the same concerns and in fact they left after getting their refund, and many other guests avoided swimming due to the poor state of the pool. Definitely not what we expected, and very disappointing...

Avoid. Appalling service: we were seated in a dirty table, which was not cleaned until we explicitly asked for it. Also, staff is not wearing masks (properly) and not very friendly. We booked one beek before, only to find out once there that the swimming pool would close at 5 PM - they could have called us to warn us about it, since they had taken our phone number when we booked. Food was very basic and portions stingy: I ordered cajun chicken thighs with potstoes and vegetables, but what I got was just 3 small pieces of chicken, 4 small pieces of potatoes, another 4 of carrots, plus a few pieces of onion and other vegetables.
