Let me start by saying I am a fussy eater, so I am understanding when my order isn't quite right the first time, but I do want to be able to actually eat the food, that' like my minimum criteria for a restaurant.
Good service, friendly waitress, amazing view, lovely and clean - all good stuff so far.
I ordered a simple BBQ burger but requested it plain, so no onion and no salad, just the patty, cheese, bacon and bun (and the BBQ sauce). My wife ordered her meal eactly as per the menu.
The food arrived quickly and was hot, unfortunately mine was full of onion, which I cannot eat, so it was returned - handled well by the waitress, and done smoothly.
I tried a couple of fries... and oh..that's a shame, they're coated in something ("southern fried" maybe) but whatever it is contains garlic - and I can't eat garlic, so no more fries for me (shame this isn't mentioned on the menu).
Replacement burger arrives and looks great, you can tell it was a fresh cook and not just the old one with the onions removed. It looked fine.
I took a bite, and almost had to spit it out... I guess the cook must've thought it was odd me sending a burger back for having onion ON it when they are made with so much onion IN them. It was inedible (to me - others would, I am sure have been fine, after all I am fussy).
So I ate the brioche bun and the bacon and cheese, my wife tried my burger and agreed it had way too much onion in it... and that was it.
TBH, if those are "homemade" burgers - then I would be very surprised, they tasted like cheap packet burgers full of onion - maybe 60% meat?
Contrast this to a meal I had yesterday where the burger was amazing, and clearly matched the 100% beef it proclaimed - this was at a different restaurant.
Like I say - I am fussy, but given that I said "no onion" and got given a lot of food with onion in, and that I actively choose food without garlic - but got given food with garlic powder on - this was NOT a good experience for me.
My wife on the other hand, she...
Read moreEverything started well, they sat us at the table and we ordered some hamburgers and a bottle of water, the hamburger we ordered was the Breakfast burger, my friend in question asked if they could remove all the vegetables from the hamburger since she would like any product that comes with it. from the earth that is not well washed you cannot eat it, therefore to avoid uncomfortable situations and for health it always says not to put products that come from the earth on it. When the hamburgers came, to our surprise, the hamburger, which was the beef inside, contained pieces of onion, the onion was not specified at any time on the menu, something that when you go to a restaurant you expect it to be on the menu. Contains all the ingredients of each dish. My friend asked that they change the burger and put the same one but with chicken so that it didn't contain onion inside. To our surprise, a hamburger that cost 13'95 increased its price to about 20'25.
We asked to speak to someone to give us an explanation for this excessive price increase, and the only thing we received was shouts from the "cook", "manager" or "owner" sincerely we did not know who it really was, a woman who told us that She did not have to say what her recipe had inside on the menu, all this in a bad way and shouting in front of all the customers, we asked if they could give us the complaint form and they told us that they did not have that , something that seemed very strange to us in a European restaurant.
In the end we resigned ourselves to paying, but when we left we told them that we were going to give them an online review and an online claim. At this point, this lady began to scream again like a madwoman saying that it was her recipe and it included what she wanted, and that she was not obliged to put the ingredients that her recipe had on the menu. We left there with a very bad taste in our mouths. , €50 less in your pocket, we are not going to recommend this...
Read moreDO NOT GO! What a waste of time for terrible service. We entered and sat down at an empty table (the restaurant was not busy at all - maybe 30% filled). After about 10 minutes, no one came or brought a menu so I went to the bar to ask for one so we could see what we wanted. The reply was (in a rude and unprofessional manner!) that we had not waited for our table so now it was our turn to wait 🙄… but ok, we accepted and waited. Then when a man came over to bring us menus, he continued to treat us poorly because we had a water bottle on the table saying that we HAD to remove the water from the table. Mind you, we had not ordered yet, and many drinks were ready to be ordered. His face said it all as he approached our table - nasty face saying he was angry so of course, we knew what was coming. His manner and attitude were not acceptable towards customers, it was like they were trying to get us to leave so we did.
Again, the treatment was rude, unprofessional and completely unnecessary. We decided to remove ourselves from the terrace and visit the place next door. Just because they have the sea views does not mean you can treat PAYING CUSTOMERs in a rude way. Unlike anything we encountered in all of our time in Malta.
Save your time and visit the restaurant TA RITA LAPSI just in front - good food, kind staff and air con for a break from the sun during a day...
