Extremely disappointed with my parents' experience at RARE Pub & Grill, Montekristo Estate. My parents and their friend went there yesterday, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The food in general wasn't great, but the most concerning part was my mum's chicken burger. The chicken looked pinkish on the inside, but since the outer batter seemed cooked, she didn't think much of it. Shortly after eating it, she started feeling unwell and couldn't sleep properly last night. Her symptoms match those of mild salmonella, thankfully not severe, but still worrying... To make matters worse, my dad had ordered pasta, and when the waitress accidentally dropped his plate near their table, it was never cleaned up. It was simply covered with tissues and left there until they finished eating and dining in general. My dad nearly slipped on it when getting up. Overall, it was a really poor experience, and they definitely won't be going back. It's a shame because Montekristo is such a nice place, but this restaurant clearly doesn't meet basic food safety or service standards. Especially worrying when so many families with...
Read moreThis is a good place to drink a good beer as they have a good selection of foreign beers. Going in the restaurant it was a challenge to gain attention but once we did we were seated relatively quickly. Music was too loud for my liking but this is a personal matter so I will not comment further. The food is not bad but not spectacular, and portions are quite large but the steak was nothing extraordinary either. Staff/Management lack attention to detail eg you have to eat the steak without a steak knife, or cutlery was taken away after the starters and we had to ask for it. This lack of attention to detail, the (nothing special) steak, and high price are the main reasons for this review. Staff need to put their act together and focus more on customers if they want to attract customers...
Read moreWhat a wonderful place! The whole estate is picturesque. The restaurant is situated in a side building, which is a actually palace of its own. The meat is prime quality and absolutely worth the price. The self-brewed beer is super fresh and offers a nice variety of mainly German and American craft beer styles. The crew is very accommodating and friendly. The cheesy German style Oktoberfest wall art is really funny and unique. The tidy and cozy interior reflects love for detail. All in all, we had an evening to remember that made me write a review, which...
