My husband and I were at the Sushi Park outlet at the Phoenix Mall on the 19th of December 2024 and were greatly let down by the degraded quality of food being served over there.
To give an overview, we have been going to this outlet for maybe more than two years and have noted a gradual decline in the quality of the food. In the beginning, the inconsistency was subtle and tolerable but on the above-mentioned date, the majorly bad quality of the food left us appalled.
We noticed the ginger had changed to a near-red colour with a bitter taste that burnt the mouth and throat as compared to the previous pink one with a slight sweetness which truly cleansed the palate and enhanced the whole experience. The soy sauce had changed from sweet and less salty to bitter and too salty for the sushi. It did not taste like sushi soy sauce but rather like regular soy sauce. The octopus balls drastically dropped in quality too by the nearly inexistent piece of octopus inside, with so little drizzle of the sauce/mayo on top and a dough that lacked salt, making it tasteless. The sushi rice tasted a bit sweet and vinegary before, but it has changed to become tasteless. Furthermore, we got so many uncooked rice grains. Added to this, the rice was not airy enough, it was rather packed and cut like a dry pudding block, making it hard to mash and difficult to swallow. The rice tasted spoilt in some of the sushi that we had. The garlic mussels were good but smaller in size and one of them was spoilt. The eel on the nigiri was smaller in size as compared to what was being served before. The black sesame tonkotsu ramen tasted good, even better than before, but the downside was the pork got even smaller. To note that it already became thinner by 50% as compared to initial size. I took the picture with the egg for you to have an idea of the actual size. I would have expected maybe six pieces for the meat to match what was being served previously. I am taking my time to write to you because, not only have we had an unpleasant experience, but I got food poisoning from your food that night that required medical attention. We are aware of what amazing food you can serve and kindly request that you review your standards and maybe conduct surprise quality checks to bring your food to the excellence it...
Read moreUpon entering the restaurant, I was met with an underwhelming first impression. The cashier, though occupied with work-related tasks, did not acknowledge or greet incoming guests. There was no clear signage indicating whether the restaurant was open, and only one door was open, which caused some confusion. I had to approach the staff myself to confirm if the restaurant was in operation.
Once acknowledged, I was invited to take a seat. As I was the only customer at the time, I was able to choose my preferred table. On a positive note, the dining area—including the floor and surroundings—was clean and well-maintained.
The restaurant offers a tablet-based ordering system, which is a commendable effort toward integrating technology into the dining experience. Unfortunately, the tablet at my table was not functioning. I had to inform the staff, after which the cashier handed me a working device. Ideally, the staff should regularly check and ensure that all ordering devices are in working condition prior to customer arrival.
The wait time for food was approximately 20 minutes, which is acceptable for a dine-in experience.
Regarding the food, the quality varied—some dishes were quite enjoyable, while others did not meet expectations. I have included photos for further reference and detail.
A notable concern was the demeanor of the staff. They appeared fatigued and disengaged, performing their tasks with minimal interaction or enthusiasm. While they fulfilled their basic duties, the lack of warmth and attentiveness impacted the overall...

The design of the restaurant is really good, I like the decoration and the vibe there, its calm and clean. I'm looking forward to there next restaurants to see how they are gonna keep what they are actually doing.
There ordering concept is quite special and innovative, and I love it. You order from a tablet that can be found on each table, you can see what the item will look like and add it to your cart, it is like an online shopping app.
The service is really good, the waiter and waitress are really nice and welcoming. They aren't like other restaurant where it look like you are actually bothering them, good point here.
Before I get onto the Food topic, I'd like to say that there caramel salmon nigiri, it is delicious. Actually, everything on the menu is good, I'm not a fan of there "fried crispy inari" cause I'm not a fan of eggs in general but it is still good. I usually take a platter for 4 and share it with my girlfriend (we eat a lot🤫) but the platter for 2 is really good too.
The price is affordable if you compare it to other restaurant who sells it for a higher price even if the price isn't better.
The only down side I find with the restaurant is the nigire slices. Even tho it is really, the salmon or tuna is prettt thin compare to the rice thickness, perhaps that can be worked on.
!!TAKE OUT!! The only difference for takeout is that you can order on the phone or directly at the restaurant and come pick your...
