Carnitas made on a daily basis. Need to know: There's lots of parking. The huge vats the carnitas are cooked in are on ground level and you have to walk past them to enter the restaurant. If you have children hold their hand and guide them or they could get burned by the vat or hot oil. You need to walk in, pick up some tongs and a tray then walk out the entrance to serve your carnitas. Get into the cafeteria style line where the tray will be taken from you and the carnitas will be weighed and cut into bite sized pieces. You will be asked which pre-served bowls of salsa, nopalitos, chips, pickled jalapeños, pico de gallo, and refried beans you would like. Pay for your for your food and find yourself a table. You get to carry the carnitas, but you will wait for the sides you chose. A server will take your beverage order. The server will bring you the sides you ordered while your carnitas say, "Eat me!" Read moreSobre carretera libre leon-guadalajara... después de detenernos en 3 lugares previos para almorzar ( 1 muy saturado y sin medidas de higiene, 1 que ya no tenia menú completo y 1 que daba cada taquito chiquito en 25 pesos y donde las meseras te veían de arriba a abajo y te hacían caras)... después deceso, llegamos a este lugar como oasis en desierto... Carnitas recién hechas que tu escoges directo del cazo, con una charola como cuando vas al pan... la carne que tu gustes, la cantidad que tu decides, lugar limpio, aaaamplio, cómodo, estacionamiento grandisimo, seguro; en la mesa te llevan tortillas de mano, frijoles, arroz, guacamole, salsas, limón, bebidas, chicharrón, personal y meseros higiénicos, atentos, etc... en fin, comimos a llenar 5 personas y pagamos 500 pesos + propina... y todavía nos sobro un poco para llevar... cuando sabemos que comer en carretera es elevado... hay como 4 locales de cárnicas "Los Alteños" en la ruta... todos con las mismas características... muy buen lugar para desayuno...
