This was such a beautiful experience - watching the sunset to live music with fantastic cocktails in hand, delicious food on order, and excellent service at a lovely bar ON the beach! We ordered the cocktail special - a delicious hibiscus mezcarita which was absolutely delicious. Dinner was amazing as well with plenty of fresh fish options which we appreciated being from a landlocked state and wanting to enjoy as much fresh, local offerings during our time beach side. The Gypsy Jazz music was top notch, a 2 man bad that set a perfect ambiance for the evening. And we absolutely loved our server, Manu - he was attentive but laid back and had a great sense of humor. We really enjoyed chatting with him throughout the evening! Sunset, live music, amazing cocktails and delicious food - this is a must experience and we'll definitely be back! ¡Manu es el mejor y lo sabe y lo sabemos nosotros y lo sabe todo el mundo! 😉 Hola Manu!

First time visiting Amaya we happened apon it after a hike and day at the beach. It was perfecto! The wait staff, in particular Sergio, were very inviting and accommodating. We had the fish cerviche, fish tacos and beers as we watched surfers catching the last waves before sunset. What a spectacular spot! The super chill atmosphere; Surfside and barefoot with great tunes followed by live music, damn hard to beat. Delicious food, great service, unbeatable location. If you are near this place, check it out! It is worth the bumpy road in if your driving and a fantastic walk along the beach if you are in the neighborhood! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars on the food was there were some options not available. It's not a huge menu, but what they do have is very tasty!

Perfect laid-back beach vibe. Beautiful scenery, lots of character. It’s worth maneuvering the dirt roads to find it. Hammocks, beach chairs, alcohol, hummus, Panini‘s, guacamole, ceviche—you don’t need anything else! Nice bathrooms, plenty of shade. Rafael the owner it’s a gracious host and very knowledgeable about the area. So glad I got a chance to meet him and chat about the area. Don’t miss this place! The ocean right in front of the Beach bar is not swimmable. You need to walk just a little ways to be able to get in the water.

Last night was my 1st time here so I have no context for differences from before new ownership. The swings, hammocks, and lots of different outdoor areas for lounging make it a unique spot right on the beach. It's a laid back and beautiful setting that would be great for romantic dates, families, groups and après-surf. We had a fire in the sand after sunset and there was a 4-piece band playing a fun variety of music. There's a full bar and the food menu has something for everyone. It was a special event and the busiest many people said they have ever seen it, so there were unique circumstances and I'm stoked to go back on a regular night to give it another try! A few notes: It took a few attempts over about 45 minutes to receive the first round of drinks. Several people in our group ordered food but it never came and we were charged for it. I'm sure it was just an oversight on a busy night, but it was a huge chunk of the bill so worth mentioning here. (They removed the items when we questioned it, so that was good. Other people ordered charcuterie boards and those came out without issues.) Check your itemized bill before you pay because of the aforementioned snafu. They couldn't provide a paper bill, so we took a few pics of the iPad with a cell phone.

So for now 3 stars for the magical potential of this place and I'll be sure to update this review...
