Delicious and beautiful food that is well worth the drive. We were told about this very out of the way restaurant on the plane into Loreto and were told “it’s a bit out of town on a dirt road.” That’s a huge understatement as it’s a 25 minute drive on a dirt road north of town, far enough that we were getting nervous and wondering if we were on the wrong road. It then appeared in the middle of nowhere, a charming house on the beach across from Coranado Island. The water is gorgeous, the owner and staff are so friendly and extremely accommodating. We showed up with a party of 10 and no reservation. They made it work (although I recommend a reservation if your group is over 6) and the food was amazing. Truly unique and delicious flavors (bbq shrimp below) with excellent presentation. The manager was charming and very patient as we scrambled to gather enough cash to pay our bill. This is CASH ONLY since they are off the grid and can’t run cards (note the menu below that states cash only but at the bottom). Bottom line: grab your cash and a full tank of gas and get out to Picazón for an amazing experience!

We were so lucky to experience this restaurant and meet Diego, the owner who made us feel welcomed. As a couple with children who travel year round looking for good food around the globe- this ranks in our top 10 experiences around the world. The ceviche with scallops was the best I’ve ever had and now I feel like I can’t even order ceviche anymore without being disappointed. The ambience is breathtaking and in between eating and drinking- we were able to jump into the ocean and take a cool dip. When I say experience- I mean we stayed there for 5 hours and only left because our taxi to go home. This is probably one of the first truly off the grid locations we’ve taken our kids (meaning NO phone signal/wifi) and even then they didn’t complain once! With the sea, the dogs and the food- they were truly content.

This spot was by far the best beach side restaurant that we visited in Loreto. The staff is super nice, knowledgeable, and spoke English beautifully. The food was yummy and the view was super relaxing. I hope to go back one day soon - it’s a very special spot. Roads going in and out are easy to navigate on a dry day. Just use your brain, honk at blind spots, take it slow, avoid the bigger rocks and keep going even when you start to wonder if you will make it. Riches await the adventurous at heart. Be prepared to ignore Google about 2/3 of the way there and keep on the obvious road. We drove it in a normal car just fine. I hope to return soon.

Just HEAVEN right here in Loreto! Our 5th year visiting. The whole package of magical beach location, being greeted by two sweet dachshund pups, fresh margaritas in a proper (gigante) margarita glass, salsa/dip/appetizer chips, and that's just the beginning.....then choice of fresh fish, clams, even octopus (for folks more adventurous than us - ha!) and choice of culinary preparations according to your tastes! Hubby ordered a fresh fish "burger" and then was offered homemade 'papas fritas'...well, these delicate fresh potato slices showed up with a fresh tomato dip artfully arranged on a lovely platter! (French fries and ketchup will never come close to this delicacy we enjoyed) Scallop wrap was truly gourmet, again artfully presented with plate garnish/decoration almost too pretty to eat...side of fresh jicama/cucumber salad with light, creamy dressing. Delightful. Every. Single. Bite. Not that there was any more room in our tummies, but again, magically, a portion of homemade flan showed up at our table...(had made a passing comment earlier in the meal) So delicious! We travel a lot, are NOT "foodies" ...but we treasure the whole experience of spending the afternoon at LaPicazon. Hard to describe, you must experience. With our greatest thanks and appreciation for your kind and genuine hospitality, inspired dishes, and presentation. You set the high standard for truly fine service, food, and wonderful Mexican warmth...

I arrived at the LTO airport about 11:30 and with a rented car decided to find this place. You DO NOT need a 4WD vehicle or special car. I had a compact rental VW and it was no problem at all. The road situation is confusing as a new land owner blocked the most direct route. If you drive North on the highway heading out of Loreto, a short distance after the cemetery on your right pull to the side of the road and Google Map the restaurant that begins about 1/8 mile north of the cemetery. Look for the “Beach” signs that will keep you headed east for awhile then there’s a left turn that takes you north. Just keep the water/beach on your right and watch for the restaurant sign. I went for lunch in July and got there just after they opened. I ordered something from every section of the menu and had great leftovers. Clams and marlin burrito were FANTASTIC. The home made salsas/sauces are unbelievable. Great margaritas. Service was impeccable but, of course, I was the only customer. Prices are comparable to world class restaurants anywhere. It’s worth it....
