Palapa San Telmo — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

This is one of my favorite once a week go to fresh fish restaurants in Loreto BCS. Their location is away from the center of Loreto, along the hwy. You will be shocked once you enter as the inside does not match what you see from the roadway. The palapa is beautifully constructed and maintained. There are plenty of tables spaced away from each other to make your dinning experience a bit more private. The patrons are more local with a few tourist mixed in. The wait staff is excellent, remembers your name, always very happy to meet your needs and most if not all them speak great English. I've enjoyed their huge seafood cocktail, fish tacos, fresh fish plate, shrimp a la Diabla, and one of my favorite so far has been the bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp. Their menu is very extensive, and I look forward to trying it all. The prices are fair for the quantity and quality of dishes severed. No charge endless chips and salsa is included, but be careful not to fill up on them because your delicious meal will be served shortly... Relax, enjoy the cool breeze inside the beautiful large palapa vibe and their amazing...

This is where the locals go for seafood. Really nice people, very helpful and patient with our bad Spanish. They did only take cash, but were upfront about it. The prices were very reasonable. The food was excellent. I had the garlic shrimp and it was perfect. My husband had the fish fillet with mustard sauce and it was really delicious. I'm glad we ordered tortillas to go with, because we needed them to soak up all of the delicious sauce. Both meals came with a salad and rice, and the rice was also delicious. It is a beautiful palapa restaurant, we will be going back. Besides, anywhere you can hand feed a chicken next to the table...

We ended up here by accident. We caught a Mahi Mahi and were told of a few places that you can take the fish to be cooked. Ask around and would up here and are so glad we did. We showed up 30 minutes before closing time but did not feel rushed at all.

The food itself is amazing, we ordered from the menu but also surrendered our fish to be cooked by the lady chef to her liking. The pictures I posted are if what she did.
