This is a family run business by Louis and his wife the Chef.
What a treat to find this gem of a place.
We just came upon it because there was a sign on the main road directing us.
I found this place just off the main road and they managed not be make it too “touristy”, while maintaining a welcoming and local flair. The decor and ambience had a very traditional feel to it in spite of the western music playing in the background. The kitchen is discreet, yet visible to the patrons. This is a huge deciding factor for me when choosing a restaurant. I like to take a quick peek into their kitchen to see how they maintain it. In keeping with the rest of the restaurant it was clean and tidy. We ordered nachos and margaritas for starters and went with Louis’ recommendation for dinner. We arrived and the owner told us that the beautiful seating up on the second floor that looks over the ocean is closed unless you made a reservation eight hours prior. Mind you this is the middle of July on a Tuesday and they very much had not one person there at 6:30 PM. The excuse was the staff was too lazy to go up and down the stairs and I offered to have them put the food on the first floor and I would walk it up there. The alternative is to sit at bar seating overlooking the highway sucking dust from cars. So no thanks my friend. Have a good one and maybe hire some more energetic staff. Probably one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in my entire life of eating at...
