The Cons, the Pros, tips, and suggestions.
CONS: First, the seating is right down uncomfortable on every possible level. You are practically seating on a hard surface, the back support is at a 35 degree angle - a two piece of 2x4 studs are there to "hold your back". New York's central park homeless benches are more comfortable... Be ready to sit on a $5 dolar seat and paying $50 for the privilege to do so. The food is not that great either, with only three items in the menu, and about a hand full of serving per order, you must order twice the amount of food, and the cost is at least 300% higher than everywhere else. They double charged me twice, once for the required "consumption minimum" and again for the final cost. They have a "tip suggestion" of 35%... Once the sunset starts, people are going to stand up and start taking photos like they've never seen a sunset before. Be ready to be a guest in their photos and vice versa.
PROS: Good white wine. The waiters are nice people and take care of you. My girlfriend liked the place - but she is a really down to earth gal never complains.
Tips: Exchange your dollars for pesos and pay cash all the way. Be prepared to spend at least $4,000 pesos for the privilege of seeing a sunset. Bring sunglasses, and if possible bring an umbrella if you want to sit up front where the sun is going to hit your the hardest budget the better view of the sea. Otherwise you are going to move around the seats just trying to evade the sun.
Simple Suggestions: Get "better" seating pease! Improve the "corridor" from the shuttle drop off to the bar. Add some more plants, lights on the ground etc. For a moment I felt I was hiking... Add at least a couple of umbrellas so that people can use them and not have to move around the place to...

Our visit to Bar Bura was, unfortunately, more disheartening than delightful. The establishment's main redeeming feature is its spectacular views, which promised an enchanting evening. However, the reality fell short of expectations once the food and drinks were served. The cuisine could best be described as mediocre, lacking in the flavor and quality one might anticipate from a venue with such impressive vistas and previous reviews. Even more disappointing were the drinks, which were far from palatable.
In hopes of salvaging our evening, we attempted to return the initial round of drinks in exchange for something more agreeable, only to be met with a surprising inflexibility. Not only were we charged for the original drinks we found unsatisfactory, but the staff also informed us that adjustments to our bill to reflect our dissatisfaction were not possible. This lack of accommodation left us feeling disregarded as patrons.
While the views from Bar Bura might capture the beauty of the location, the culinary experience significantly detracts from what could be a delightful visit. Customer service, particularly in how establishments handle feedback and complaints, plays a crucial role in the overall dining experience. It is regrettable that on this front, too, Bar Bura missed the mark. Future patrons may find themselves drawn in by the scenic allure, but should temper their expectations when it comes to the food and drink quality, as well as the establishment's responsiveness to...
Read moreCuatro Cuatro had been on my bucket list for years, and I finally got to experience it—let me tell you, it did not disappoint! It is a gem perched on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The views alone are absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunset. If you're planning to go, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance since it’s a popular spot, and trust me, you don’t want to miss out. A heads-up—there’s a cover charge, and getting up to the hilltop restaurant might cost extra. I can’t remember how much repaid but It’s worth double-checking those details beforehand so there are no surprises. Also, bring some cash for tips, a light jacket for the cool evening breeze, and of course, your camera because the ocean views are unreal. The menu is a perfect mix of Mexican and international flavors. My favorites are the fresh ceviche fish tacos, and grilled octopus, also their margaritas and local mezcal cocktails if you are a cocktail lover. I would skip the wine list there. The prices are on the higher side for Ensenada, but the quality of the food and the experience make it worth it. I’d suggest arriving a bit early to take in the scenery and snap some photos before dinner while taking a shuttle, the ride up adds to the adventure. Overall, Cuatro Cuatro is one of the most memorable dining experiences in Ensenada. Can’t...
