BEWARE!! UPDATE AND RESPONSE TO THE OWNER - You had SEVERAL males walking around our rooms throughout the night of the wedding looking into our rooms AFTER they had already broken into one of our rooms during the day, looking into our rooms. The picture attached clearly shows damage to the screen. You scammed the wedding party out of money by having them pay for security, and cleaning service but never provided the services. Of course the wedding still took place but no one fully enjoyed their time here nor will they be returning. The owner is a liar and trying to cover his tracks. We couldn't file a police report because the police station was closed and we weren't staying around Sunday to try to do it, we just wanted to get back across the border. Dave, is a thief and a liar!! We had a family wedding at this location with 50 people with all family members. We all stayed in different rooms on this property and my 2 daughters stayed in a room named Palma Alta in the farthest back corner of the 2nd floor. While we were out prepping for the wedding during the day on Saturday, someone broke into their room and stole their clothes, shoes and laptops, mind you while they ate the wedding cake that was going to be decorated for that evening. When we contacted the property manager, Dave, he came to look and was very unapologetic and didn’t care. He told me it was someone from our wedding party because the door knobs weren’t broken off. We tried to file a police report but the police station was closed so once we returned to the property I called Dave again to let him know we were very concerned about our room being broken into and he refused to take any fault and said he checked the cameras and couldn’t see anything and again tried to blame our wedding party. I told him he must be in on it because he refused to look into it further and proceeded to tell me we were trying to scam him and we needed to leave his property immediately. Obviously we did not leave because we had the wedding that evening. During the evening wedding there were random guys walking around the upper level rooms as they were scouting out to see how they could get into the different rooms again. We had to have 2 people from our party make routine checks of our rooms and came across a couple of guys looking into our rooms. Once they saw someone was watching them, they took off down the stairs. Very sketchy place and VERY VERY UNSAFE! I would NOT recommend anyone stay here. It is a beautiful place which is why my cousin choose to have his wedding there but Dave was very rude, and refused to help us in any way. I would not be surprised if he knew the guys looking out for other people to break into the rooms and take what they can. The laptop was the least of our worries as we can just buy another one but the thought of someone breaking into our room was very scary and I would not ever return to this location!! PLEASE BE AWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY! These are pictures of how they went out the back door and climbed down into the property behind the room. This back door was blocked off by a chair, and they moved it and ran out through this door! The rooms were very dirty and we had roaches...

Additional update: As you can see below, the owners are lying and saying I left because I'm "wanted by the police". This is complete nonsense, and a good demonstration of their absurd dishonesty. We left early because the "resort" is absolutely disgusting. DO NOT STAY HERE.

UPDATE: Adding some photos as the owners practice seems to be to reply to negative reviews by lying and saying the reviewer did not actually stay there. The shot of the sewer pipe leaking out onto the beach should be especially noted.

Absolutely disgusting, and not at all as advertised. Mold on the glasses, actual maggots in the dishwasher, and rats running around in the rooms! None of this is exaggeration, sadly.

We booked this place for a week with a large party (14 people, 8 adults 6 kids) for a week, and arrived to find nothing was as expected. A room with one bed had been sold to us as "two bedrooms", the staff were unprepared to deal with us and cook meals (one of the many things we had "arranged" that did not materialize), and the manager, Dave, is completely incompetent and useless. The pool was gross, the bottom being completely broken up and half the tiles missing, and there are bugs everywhere. Access to the beach is through an unfinished construction site with exposed rebar, mud, and sharp edges everywhere (not safe for children!).

One of the services advertised is "van y driver", and considering how isolated this location ends up being without your own cars we thought this would be quite helpful... but "van y driver" turns out to be a very beat-up and absolutely filthy old Ford Explorer without seatbelts (also an exhaust leak you could smell in the car), and a driver who spoke broken English who didn't know where he was going. All this for $100 to carry us ten miles up the road to Rosarito!

And don't worry, the location makes you feel extra unsafe at all points-- you can't walk anywhere for fear of being killed by drivers on the roads with no sidewalks, and we were repeatedly warned about crime being rampant. The only crime we encountered, though, was getting shaken down by the police for bribes ($225, cash only, no receipt).

Some of the staff-- the two ladies responsible for cooking, Olga and Erma, in particular-- seem to be hard-working and trying to make the best of it but this place is simply a disaster. When we complained to the manager we got little more than a shrug. But, I give it two stars instead of one (or zero if I could in other categories) thanks to Olga and Erma's cooking and nice attitude.

UPDATE: to the comment from the property owner saying I did not stay here: I did stay there with 8 of my friends and family members and you know exactly who we were. The property was rented under my boyfriend’s name on the 4th of July weekend. By looking at the reviews here, everyone can see that this is your strategy to say people didn’t stay there if the review is not to your taste. Just scroll down a bit and you see multiple examples of it.

UPDATE 2: the property owner on airbnb just charged our credit card $400 for “broken TV”, because of our reviews here and on airbnb website (2.5 months after our stay). I have never seen such dishonest people. Luckily we never used TV and took videos and photos of everything when checking out because we suspected they would do such things after our complaints. We are taking this to airbnb, and be sure that you can’t threaten or scare people from writing reviews and warning others. Not only your place is disgusting, but your behavior and lack of ethics are as well.

Original Review: Extremely dirty. Didn’t even want to sit on the couches that seemed to be dug up from underground. Stained brown with smoke holes in them. The mattress comforters and towels had stains on them. Yikes

With the money they charge they could have cleaned the whole place 100X times and still they decide not to care.

Besides the building which is shared (floors are rented separately), the pool, yard, parking, and all outdoor common areas are shared. The noise from other guests running up and down the stairs kept us up all night. It’s advertised as private but beware that you won’t get what you pay for.

Overall an awful experience. I would extremely discourage anyone from visiting there unless you wanna come back with skin diseases...
