IT WAS FREEZING! And a little sprinkle in the air, but we were not going to let that stop us. We live locally in Ensenada and have pasted this place many times, and every time was say "we need to try that place out". Love the outdoor "back yard" BBQ vib, and very festive fun feel with the 70's Rock n' Roll playing in the back ground. For our special anniversary we marked it down for our first visit. No real organization when you get there, and it's almost a "figure it out" when you walk up, but the staff is friendly, and you just need to ask, or do what we did, act like you know what you are doing and go find an empty table and sit down like ya own it. Must have been crazy to order an ice cold Sangria, but man was it good. Cool waiter, he explained some dishes, and we were off and running with Beef and pork ribs. As you wait for your food make sure you stroll over to the Pit Master's area and check out what he's cooking. Out of the two plates we ordered we like the Beef ribs the best. Pork were a little on the tough side and could have been spiced up a bit, but they were still good. AWESOME sides! Best Corn on the cob I've had, the fries were perfect, good slaw and everything came pip'n hot, and on this cold night every bite was a bite of warmth. Good fun place to go and eat and we'll for sure find...
Read moreWe go to the Valle all the time for wine tasting and lunch or dinner. We finally stopped to try the BBQ. Very disappointed. First the good stuff. Waiters are very friendly. The place is rustic with individual redwood tables with bamboo shades to shade one from sun. Great for Covid isolation for guests. They also have tables in a raised deck behind the main shack where they prepare the plates, The view towards hills is fun when helicopters fly in and out. Kids will like that. Presentation is typically bbq. Corn, chopped cabbage. pork, beef, chicken. Drinks are pretty good with beer and sodas and bottled aguas. The not so good is the actual flavor of meat. For the BBQ pork, baby back ribs and lechón there was no flavor! It needed at least seasoning, salt and pepper. And, I don’t even like too much salt in my food. But it definitely needed it. It’s like they just took the meat and just cooked it as is. . Beef ribs were a little better. It had a little flavor. Especially for us Californians and Texans and anyone who loves BBQ not up to our standards. We took it home so we could season it and fix it up for tomorrow. The cost is around $12.00 - $15.00 each plate. Will...
Read moreWe will not attempt to go again. If you have a compact car, you may damage the undercarriage of your vehicle just trying to get there because the dirt and rock road is so extremely bad, full of huge ruts and holes. If it's raining, it's a mudhole, and the parking for the restaurant is about 100 yards from where you have to walk to the restaurant after parking. We couldn't find the restaurant when we first arrived because there were no signs and the restaurant sits about 1/4 mile away from where it's marked on...
